Line 6 HX Stomp Review

samgoffenguitar.com

The Line 6 HX Stomp emerges as a versatile workhorse, blending compact design with impressive amp simulation and effects capabilities. Musicians will appreciate its ability to serve as a reliable backup while fitting seamlessly on a pedalboard. However, the unit's limitations in effects blocks may leave some users wanting more. Additionally, while it performs admirably, it can't quite match the depth and warmth of a high-end tube amp, which may disappoint tone purists. Overall, the HX Stomp is a solid choice for those seeking quality in a portable format, though it may not fully satisfy everyone’s tonal aspirations.

Review: Line 6 HX Stomp - Bass Magazine

bassmagazine.com

The Line 6 HX Stomp stands out for its versatility and practical application for modern musicians, particularly bassists seeking a compact multi-effects solution. With a range of bass-specific models and effects, it caters to both live and studio settings, offering impressive sound quality and routing flexibility. However, the initial learning curve can be steep, as users must invest time to fully understand its capabilities and create custom presets. While the factory settings lean towards guitar applications, the HX Stomp's potential for bass-specific tones is significant, making it a valuable addition to any rig. Ultimately, it’s a powerful tool that balances traditional amp sounds with innovative features, though it may not be plug-and-play for those less inclined to delve into digital gear.

Line 6 HX Stomp: Multi-Talented Helix Effects Unit – Review

liveukulele.com

The Line 6 HX Stomp packs a powerful punch in a compact design, making it a desirable multi-effects unit for discerning musicians. Its impressive array of effects, realistic amp modeling, and flexible EQ options make it a standout choice for live performances. However, the steep price tag and limited footswitches may deter casual users and hobbyists. The clunky power supply and lack of a dedicated DI output also raise concerns. Still, for seasoned players seeking to streamline their rig without sacrificing quality, the HX Stomp is an excellent investment—if you know exactly what you want.

Line 6 HX Stomp review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Packed with impressive tonal options, the Line 6 HX Stomp delivers a plethora of high-quality effects in a compact form, making it a versatile addition to any pedalboard. While its size can lead to accidental knob adjustments during use, its MIDI integration and customizable capabilities shine through. The sounds are top-notch, especially for those seeking specific modulations and delays, but the smaller interface may leave users yearning for the additional controls of larger models. Overall, it's a smart choice for gigging musicians who need professional-grade sounds on the go.

Super Versatile Multi-effects

The line 6 HX Stomp is probably one of the best multi effects pedal on this planet. It has basically every pedal, sound, and amp/cab you could possibly want. As a bassist, it gives me the opportunity to make sounds that I would otherwise have to break the bank for. The only drawback is the lack of knob options, for on-the-fly pedal tweaking.

stickster

Best value single unit on the planet.

The features and flexibility of this unit are unmatched at the price point. I use this to go from studio to rehearsal to stage with absolutely no compromises on sound. I've built out of this world sounds that make a bass sound like an orchestra, and simple patches that let the instrument be itself. (Yes, it works incredibly well for bass players.) Completely editable by hand, but can also be paired with the HX Edit app on the computer for point and click ease. And it fits in a gig bag with plenty of room to spare. What could be better?

M

Versatile, easy to use, and so much fun!

As a mainly acoustic player, I was skeptical to say the least for how much this little box could do for me. I have never EVER regretted buying this. The incredible versatility of this as an amp modeler, effects pedal, tuner, etc. blows me away every time I play through it. Since I bought it, I've slowly seen even the most hardcore analog amp and pedal gearheads turn around and buy one to replace their amp and cab rigs.

gabrielrice6

basically perfect

For what it is, it is basically perfect. I do wish it had two separate send jacks rather than the TRS but I'm just nit-picking there really. Effects sound great. Amp models sound great. UI is broadly intuitive. And Line 6's semi-regular updates bring longer-lasting excitement than most pedals.

Great quality!

Shocking amount of flexibility and features. With the expression pedal, you may never need another pedal. If you are adding to a pedal board be aware of the power consumption and it’s odd power jack. You will likely need a new power block.

The best thing to get right now

I played a Tour with only the hx stomp it worked perfectly, it sounded amazing, i only had my case with me and that was it. It works amazingly well as a interface i use it for electric gutiar, bass and acoustic guitar and it is the best purchase ever ... who knows if i will use my amp or the kemper again ... right now this is it.

thewolfman

one of the most useful pieces of gear, Period

Line 6 HX Line is seriously some of the best gear to date, the effects are extremely accurate compared to the real deal, the Amp Models are seriously Scary Good and the Ability to have Impulse Responses and preamps is a huge plus, and the user interface is incredibly easy to use!

J

So, so much!

Favorite Fuzz, favorite Boost and one HX Stomp. You don't need more gear! Amazing for ever possible Guitar-Situation and amazing on Bass and Synth. Absolutely standard gear!

konstantin_musik

The best dicision i ever made

Sizing down form my Orange Dual Terror to the HX Stomp was one of the best decisions i ever made. It is so versatile and i really love it

ethan_lawson

Amazing

This thing is incredible in its versatility, sound quality and price point. Basically a mini Helix. The only limitation is that you only have six blocks to work with, but it's honestly so flexible that it's not as big of a deal as I was expecting.
