Spot On Recreation

The Kid A is gnarly to say the least. When I first ordered it, I had never really used delay before- so I went into it blind. I was interested mainly because of the fuzz feature and the relation to Radiohead, but this pedal blew me away. I love the ability to time the delays separate. I use this on our last song in our set, "Solely," to make everything noisy and loud, and eventually lead to a big oscillated boom. The delay tones are warm and pretty wicked, especially when the feedback is cranked.

The fuzz side is insane. I can't say I use this all the time, because its a very particular tone, but there are certain things it's perfect for. Things like noisy solos, doubled guitar tracks with my Big Muff on the other, and HEAVY riffs. One of my favorite features on this is the oscillator, which causes the guitar to jump between octaves right at the sweet spot between 7 and 8 O'Clock, which is like 0 to 1 on the settings. There's no tame way of oscillating the fuzz, but there is a nice way of tuning it to be an octave or more below the low E, which I've been using with my some of my heavier riffs. This is the best fuzz I've come across trying to recreate the Exit Music (For a Film) tone right when the bass kicks in. I didn't expect it to be as thin as it is, but I've learned to love it. Like I mentioned before, tracking guitars with one through the Big Muff and the other through the Kid A is pretty wicked. Only downside to the fuzz: significant volume drop no matter the setting on it. It completely disappears in a mix, unless paired with the boost I use. That being said, the two are a good pair, and the boost adds more low-end into it, making it sound thicker while also boosting the level. Overall thoughts.... The tone is absolutely killer, and stands out well in a mix.
