PreSonus Revelator io24 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The PreSonus Revelator io24 is a game-changer for budget-conscious streamers, offering portability and solid build quality at a fantastic price. Its robust software, featuring EQ and DSP effects, enhances audio quality significantly. However, its limited physical controls and some output routing challenges may frustrate more advanced users. While it doesn’t boast all the features of pricier competitors, it provides exceptional value for entry-level musicians and gamers alike, making it a worthy contender in the streaming audio interface market.

positive

PreSonus Revelator io24

soundonsound.com

PreSonus’s Revelator io24 is a standout in the crowded audio interface market, cleverly designed for both streamers and musicians. Its unique wedge shape offers ergonomic advantages, while the intuitive screen and control knob simplify operation. The powerful Universal Control software elevates the experience, providing essential mixing capabilities and impressive DSP effects. However, it’s not without flaws; headphone interference issues have been reported, and some controls can feel a bit convoluted. The lack of multiple inputs and the brightness of the knob’s halo light may frustrate some users. Still, its versatility and thoughtful design make the Revelator io24 a compelling choice for anyone needing a robust two-input solution.

PreSonus Revelator io24 review: The desktop audio interface of choice for streamers and home recording

musictech.com

The PreSonus Revelator io24 offers remarkable audio quality and a suite of streaming-friendly features that make it a standout choice for home recording and broadcasting. Its onboard DSP, intuitive controls, and convenient remote access via mobile devices enhance usability. However, the interface isn't without flaws; users may encounter software annoyances, and the reverb effect leaves much to be desired, sounding metallic at longer settings. Despite these drawbacks, the io24's versatility and overall value position it as a strong contender in its category, making it a worthy investment for creators looking to elevate their audio game.

audiotechnology.com

The PreSonus Revelator io24 is a game changer for content creators, thanks to its flexible internal routing and built-in Fat Channel processing, allowing for rich audio manipulation. However, the interface's multifunction knob can lead to some frustrating mix-ups during use. While it’s a solid choice for streamers and podcasters, the initial setup may require a steep learning curve. Overall, if you’re looking to elevate your audio game without being tethered to a computer, the Revelator io24 is a worthy investment.

Solid interface, software is decent, but confusing at first

Build quality is stellar and I've had no issues with a year of ownership. The PreSonus software is a little confusing at first and the effects it includes by default are unnecessary if you're intending to use it as an instrument interface. Takes a bit of effort to get everything in the FAT channel cleared out to get a clean signal, but works great once set up.

Genre Usage

Based on how artists on Equipboard use this gear, it is most commonly found in the following genres.

1 alternative for PreSonus Revelator io24 USB-C Audio Interface, curated by the Equipboard community.

PreSonus Audiobox USB 96 25th Anniversary Edition

$73.00 - $99.99

newer cheaper alternative

If you can't get a Revelator io24, as it's out of production, go for an AudioBox 96 or Revelator io44. The Audiobox has 2 inputs, if you really need that, and is cheaper, but doesn't have the native DSP chain. The io44 is essentially a single input io24, and has more features than the AudioBox, though at a higher price point.

If you're just looking to record instruments and mics, go for the AudioBox. If you want something to handle more of the signal processing chain, for on the go recording or podcasting, or just an all-in one solution without much additional software, go for the io44, or io24 if you can get it.
