    Source
  • The Sensel Morph's Music Producer overlay features tiny 1cm keys that support MPE, enabling pitch bends by sliding left and right.

    Source
  • SenselApp allows firmware updates and custom configurations for the Morph, including force and location adjustments with the Innovator overlay.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Users suggest limited options for MPE controllers with Ableton Live 11, noting the need for better integration and more MPE availability.

    Source
  • Touché SE by Expressive E offers multidimensional control but lacks per-note expression, making it better suited for single-note instruments like virtual violins or cellos.

    Source

Comparisons

    Source
  • The Sensel Morph differs from the Seaboard by having a flat surface with approximately 20,000 pressure sensors, lacking the tactile feedback of Seaboard's silicone keys.

Sensel: Morph Controller | Tape Op Magazine | Longform candid interviews with music producers and audio engineers covering mixing, mastering, recording and music production.

The Sensel Morph Controller showcases impressive versatility, allowing users to seamlessly switch between various overlays for MIDI and DAW control. Its tactile response and compatibility across multiple platforms make it an appealing choice for musicians seeking alternatives to traditional controllers. However, setup can be challenging, with a convoluted online documentation that could frustrate newcomers. While the Morph excels with MPE-enabled instruments, compatibility issues with older devices may limit its appeal. Overall, it’s a clever piece of gear with room for improvement in user experience.

Sensel Morph

The Sensel Morph offers a unique take on control surfaces with its pressure-sensitive, multi-touch interface and customizable overlays, making it highly versatile for various creative tasks. While its tactile feedback and responsiveness shine, especially compared to flat tablet interfaces, the device falters in some areas. The QWERTY overlay's trackpad is subpar, and the function keys lack responsiveness, which may frustrate users. Additionally, the configuration software, although powerful, presents usability challenges. Ultimately, the Morph is a solid option for those seeking a more dynamic interface than traditional MIDI controllers, but it may not fully replace other existing solutions.

Review: The Sensel Morph hardware interface - postPerspective

postperspective.com

The Sensel Morph stands out as a versatile and delightful addition to editing workflows, seamlessly enhancing the user experience in Adobe Premiere. Its pressure-sensitive functionality and customizable overlays make it a creative powerhouse, allowing users to tap into their full editing potential. However, it’s not without flaws; some users may find the need for a mouse and keyboard at times, and the software can be a resource hog on performance. Additionally, the absence of labeled shortcuts on overlays can be frustrating. Overall, for those who frequently edit or use various creative apps, the Morph is a worthwhile investment, providing a fresh and inspiring way to interact with their software.

Perfect for musicians and creators alike, it excels in MPE technology and offers an intuitive overlay system that instantly transforms its function. It's also portable and has stellar battery life, making it a great companion in any studio. However, while its ease of use is a significant advantage, some may find the learning curve for MPE daunting. Overall, this pint-sized powerhouse is a fantastic entry point into MPE, but it may not fully satisfy those seeking advanced features without further exploration.
