A reissue of Supro's iconic '60s-era 1 x 8-inch tube combo amplifier, the '64 Super was built for one purpose: no-frills tube tone. And when we say no frills, we mean it. The Supro Super '64 Super boasts a single volume knob — and that's it. Its red-hot, ECC83-based preamp feeds directly into a 6V6-equipped, single-ended 5-watt power amp that evokes Supro's pre-war origins. A top-notch Jensen C8R speaker rounds out this compact brute. If you want pure vintage Supro tone, the '64 Super packs a lot of tube-infused character into a compact guitar combo amplifier.

I love this little amp.

I bought this because of Sara Watkins' usage of it both live & on her record "Young In All The Wrong Ways". It is 5 watts, with an 8" speaker, which is not very attractive until you hear it. Someone before me modified it to accept external speakers as well as a newer Weber alnico. This thing doesn't sound like it has an 8" speaker. When you push it, it becomes this full & awesome monster.

I also recall reading that James Duke has a Valco made Gretsch 6150; the same as this Supro. He's a hero of mine.
