Description
Supro 1696RT Black Magick Reverb is an acclaimed amplifier that beautifully harnesses the vintage Supro amp sound, offering a rich mid-range grind that will resonate with rock and roll enthusiasts. Developed in collaboration with Lenny Kravitz, this modern take on a classic offers all-tube reverb, 2-band EQ, and a master volume knob, enhancing the amplifier's versatility and tone control.
Much like the original model, the Black Magick Reverb features two independent preamp channels that can be linked via the 1&2 input jack, producing an incredibly full and fat tone. The single-knob tone control of the original model has been reconfigured into separate treble and bass knobs, allowing a wider range of sound possibilities.
The reverb version's 6-spring reverb pan is uniquely driven by both channels and then combined with the dry signal just before the master volume control. This amp also boasts a tube-based LFO circuit that offers bias-modulated output tube tremolo with double the speed range of the original Black Magick. The output stage utilizes a matched pair of 6973 tubes and a custom-made Supro output transformer, available in 16-ohm, 8-ohm, and 4-ohm output options.
The combo version features the same, custom-designed 12" BD12 speaker found in the original Black Magick combo, but can also be used with standalone 1x12 and 1x15 extension cabinets for a more expansive stage sound. The amplifier is encased in Supro's signature Black Rhino Hide Tolex, adding a touch of undeniable rock and roll flair to its aesthetic.

Huge thanks to Supro for sending this my way! Highly recommend this amp for anyone who loves a classic gritty hard rock tone. But it also cleans up quite well! Overall it’s surprisingly versatile, and not extremely expensive. Would be a fine purchase indeed :)
DISCLAIMER foot switch is actually NOT included, but Supro was kind enough to send one
