Bulky, but will power most large/complex pedal collections
The Walrus Audio Phoenix Power Supply features 15 outputs, meaning you can power up to 15 guitar effects pedals, with guaranteed isolation and clean power going to each one. To do this, it uses two internal custom wound toroidal transformers. To say this power supply is versatile is an understatement. No matter your voltage and current requirements, it can handle it. It also has some of the coolest artwork we’ve ever seen on a pedal power supply.
Here’s the breakdown of the outputs:
- Eight outputs will power 9V pedals, and provide 100mA each.
- Four of the outputs provide 300mA current, which means you can run power-hungry Strymon and Eventide pedals.
- Two of the outputs have a toggle to run them at 9V or 12V, 100mA.
- One output includes a toggle switch option for 9V or 18V, again at 100mA.
- On the other side of the unit, it even has a courtesy AC out.
As you can see, the outputs on the Walrus Audio Phoenix are very well thought out, and can accommodate any pedal setup - from the more simplistic one consisting of the more standard 9VDC pedals, to the more complicated one consisting of power-hungry digital delay pedals and odd power requirements.
From a build quality standpoint, the Phoenix is awesome. It just feels so nice and polished, but also tour-worthy. It’s on the larger side: 9.75” long, 2.6” wide, 2” high. Walrus Audio maintains that “the Phoenix fits under most pedal boards such as the PedalTrain PT-2 and up.”
The Phoenix's outputs are placed very close together, which makes a little more difficult to use because of how crowded wires get. Furthermore, the clearance between the outputs and the bottom of the unit make it so that it doesn’t quite sit completely flat on a surface. You might have to mess with it to make sure your cables are situated at the best angles, but we were able to quickly figure it out. It’s handy that the 15 cables included with the Phoenix are of varying lengths, which helps with keeping your pedalboard tidy.
Bottom Line: The Walrus Audio Phoenix carries the price tag of a premium product. The quality is superb, it will handle most voltage/current combos you throw at it, it delivers isolated clean power to each of your pedals, and it looks great.

Perfect for Strymon
I purchased the Phoenix due to the fact my Voodoo lab could not power my Strymon Timeline. The Phoenix has 15 power spots, where the PP2+ has only 8, and it has 4 outlets that run at a current of 300mA, which is what the big Strymon pedals require. The PP2+ only has a maximum of 250mA on spots 5 & 6 so that wouldn't power it. The phoenix fits under my pedal train 2, but the courtesy outlet is blocked. I plan to cut a hole so that it is no longer blocked. Other than that, its a great power supply and I doubt I will need anything bigger.

Worth the Money
I can power my entire board (including my Whammy), and wireless, with this. It eliminated any and all noise I previously had with daisy chains. Absolute beast. Walrus makes high quality units, and I'm proud to use this power supply to run my rig. I have one of the limited edition units from 2017.

Power tank is a good definition
Excellent power source that meets the goal of powering the pedals of fans like me (or who don't admit to having GAS). All my pedals work fine for me, even the dl4 when connected to the 300mA input performed excellently. Once you buy this font you won't need any other for a long time.

Great power supply!
This is what I use to power all of my pedals. Voodoo Labs can't hang with the Strymon stuff and doesn't run nearly as clean as this. If you have a lot of pedals, get this.

Luckily now we have Strymon's own power supplies. :-)

Not great for the price
The little voltage control switches are very likely to get accidentally switched to a different voltage, destroying any pedal plugged into it. I also hated that the power connection points shake when you move it around. Very cheap feeling.

Great supply
My first "real" power supply, other than the Donner. I can't see a reason to replace it yet.

"Bigger is not always better... Just replaced what I thought would be my last ever power supply with the @walrusaudioeffects Phoenix and in half the weight and size have much more power and mAh... This thing rules!"
Switched to this in January 2019. Previously used a OneSpot Pro CS7. Only used this briefly before switching to Strymon power.
Benjamin Nerheim, guitarist for Heave Blood and Die, is confirmed to have used the Walrus Audio Phoenix 15-Output Power Supply during the early days of the band, both live and in the studio. This is supported by a photo he shared on Instagram on January 6, 2016, where he tagged @walrusaudioeffects among other gear-related accounts.
Hudson’s main pedalboard can be broken down into a few key food groups: time-based (Boss DD-7 Digital Delay, MXR Carbon Copy, TC Electronic Trinity, and Line 6 DL4), drive (Boss BD-2 Blues Driver, Klon KTR, and Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword), and weirdos (Strymon Mobius and Electro-Harmonix POG). (It’s worth noting the KTR was given to him after a show by a Klon employee who loves Foxing.) Since he’s taped his Strat’s volume knob, he has an Ernie Ball 6180 VP JR for controlling dynamics, a Walrus Audio Phoenix powers the pedals, and a TC Electronic PolyTune 2 Noir Mini keeps his guitars in check.
