Description
The Wampler Belle is an overdrive effects pedal with a unique circuit that's been a favorite among Nashville musicians for years. This pedal is a testament to Brian Wampler's pursuit of achieving the perfect tone, eliminating the "hi-fi" sound that often plagues similar pedals. The Belle's bass control and Color control are its defining features, allowing you to manipulate the harmonics and tonal balance respectively.
Designed with additional gain capabilities, this pedal offers a smooth, creamy sound at high bass control settings and a tight, crunchy sound at its lowest. With the gain set low and the bass control high, you have a clean boost sound that rivals that of any Klone circuit. Turn the bass down and the gain up, and you'll find a transparent overdrive or medium distortion sound with a satisfying crunch.
The Belle's Color control is more than your average tone knob. It allows you to boost or cut the high and low end without meddling with the midrange frequencies. This, combined with the Bass control, provides a versatile tone-shaping palette that's easy to use.
An extra punch is added with the help of a push switch on the pedal's side, which controls the amount of compression and alters the clipping structure of the circuit. With its high-quality components and beautiful enclosure, the Wampler Belle delivers a glorious tone that can add muscle to your country music, grit to your blues, and soaring boosts to your rock songs.

Remarkable pedal
This pedal has become my favorite. I’ve been using it for about a month now, and I have to say it’s fantastic. It’s the second overdrive in my signal chain, placed after a budget Klon-style pedal.
The sound is exceptional, I mainly use it for crunchy tones and light distortion, and I love pairing it with delay to achieve an Italo-western vibe. The pedal is extremely versatile, the bass control and color knob are especially useful.
The clipping options are also very practical, allowing you to quickly shape and tighten the distortion a bit. I use it both as a boost and as a tone-shaping tool to control my Big Muff.
Overall, a brilliant pedal that sounds outstanding.

My Favorite take on the Nashville drive... for now
The Nobels ODR-1 was the first pedal I really loved. I have found myself NEEDING one for the longest time, and I don't mean liking it more than other drives, but needing that sound to even play a gig comfortably or at least have it be an enjoyable experience for me. The Nobels had no single setting that was the best, it's a simple enough layout you can tweak the knobs and find a sound you like. I retired my first Nobels, and tried the mini, liked it, but found myself questioning the quality just as much as an old Nobels, and that's saying something. The weirdest thing about the mini, was that when I tapped on the knobs of the pedal it was microphonic, and it just felt generally cheap even though I had no problems with the sound. I tried the Wampler at a Guitar Center (ick), realized it did the thing, and ordered one by the time I got home. At 18V, it's not indistinguishable from the old Nobels, but Brian Wampler's subtle tweaks all seem to be careful and intentional, and make it just a fantastic take on the ODR-1 formula. I do find myself using more gain on the Belle, because it's quiet, smooth, and doesn't get boomy since you can roll back the bass. Into a tweed amp it just feels like a "more" button, into a black panel Fender it feels like a bit of the Tweed flavor. I even bought a second one, and my ODR-1 lives at home safe.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
I am always finding different settings on the Belle and tweaking it to the room, but it always sounds good.

ODR and then some
I first got an ODR Mini after learning of Tom Bukovac’s love for it. But it always felt lacking—sort of dead sounding. Then I discovered the Belle at my local shop and was blown away when I tried it. The added EQ option really take that style circuit to another level, especially when plugged into the 12v or 18v channel of my power supply. It’s my favorite overdrive by far.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Usually keep all four dials around noon and tweak as needed, usually bumping up the drive and color to 1 or 2 o’clock. 12v power.

Amazing sound
I know how the Nobels sounds and Wampler's Belle is not just a clone. It offeres much more. Bass knob and side switch is magic.
