Wampler Unveils Andy Wood Gearbox Overdrive Pedal - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Wampler Gearbox - Andy Wood Signature Overdrive presents an intriguing dual-pedal concept, merging the Tumnus and Pinnacle circuits. While its versatility and dual-channel setup offer impressive tonal options, critiques highlight a lack of distinct character, leaving some players wanting more punch and definition. The complex controls may overwhelm users seeking simplicity, and the price point raises questions about value. Tumnus + Pinnacle = Drive Toolbox

2 of Wampler's best in one box, tweaked to play nice with each other. The Gearbox can go from soulful bluesy lead tones to saturated chugging with a few turns of the knobs. The routing options add versatility allowing you to separate the pedal into 2 different sections for use with a loop switcher. Also, a pedal can be added between the 2 sides as well. The gate feature works extremely well and makes this pedal perfect for a fly rig or mini board without having to have a separate noise gate.
