Juan Spinelli is a multi-instrumentalist musician, but more of a guitarist than anything else. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he started playing at a very early age and learned various instruments such as flute, clarinet, percussion, didjeridoo, cavaquinho, bass and more. Today, he also works as a music producer and sound engineer, collaborating in several projects in his city and with artists from all over the world.
Go-to guitar? Give me a Fender Telecaster, Mustang or Jaguar and I'll be very happy.
First concert? I don't remember the first one, but I don't miss going to a concert every week!
First started playing guitar? At the age of 13, in 2001, from then on I never stopped. It's been 24 years and counting...
Influences? The first is undoubtedly the so-called national rock of my country, Argentina. Artists like Charly García or Luis Alberto Spinetta marked me forever. From then on, the influence does not stop growing. A lot of rock, Pavement, Sonic Youth, legendary bands from the beginnings of punk, New York, Jazz, Afro-Beat, Hip Hop, and many current bands from my country like Atras Hay Truenos or El Mató a un Policía Motorizado.
Favorite bands? Well, this may change over time, but in the last few years the most listened to were undoubtedly Pavement, 107 Faunos, Atras Hay Truenos, Wire, Sonic Youth.
