Clean as it gets

The 71' Twin Reverb is a clean machine. With built in spring reverb and vibrato (plus 100 watts of power), it's a beast. It is also one of the more desirable models for not having the master volume knob.

jimmarchi1

yup, after after 72 the twin (as well as many other fender models) went downhill... how much cleaner can a twin be? ask CBS! While a drip edge silverface is 95% blackface, your is still pretty durned close.... it might have some snubber caps choking the tone in the power section, otherwise I expect she's a blackface thru and thru unless she has the unfortunate ultrilinear output transformer (not sure when that came in, I used to think with the master volume but I have seen ultralinear twins without masters now)

ethanrks

Found it in a music shop in Alabama, played it, and was in love with the tone. I have had a few modeling amps in the past with "twin" settings on them but wow. You can't compare that to actual vintage tone

jimmarchi1

nope.... tubes and transformers rock, everything else is just, well, there
