Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ Cardioid Condenser Microphone Review: Versatile Performer - Tom's Hardware | Tom's Hardware

tomshardware.com

The Audio-Technica AT2020 USB+ impresses with its versatility and value, making it a strong contender in the USB mic market. It shines in streaming, podcasting, and music recording applications with its easy USB plug-in setup. While it doesn't quite match the Beyerdynamic Fox in sound quality, it offers excellent clarity and warmth for vocals and instruments. The mic's lag-free monitoring and pleasant room sound capture are highlights, though it could benefit from more polar patterns and a pop shield. The balancing act of its tripod stand and sensitivity to keyboard clicks are minor drawbacks. Overall, it's a top choice for solo recording setups.

Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ Review | Musician Nerd

musiciannerd.com

The Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ shines as a versatile USB condenser microphone, ideal for podcasters and streamers seeking rich sound and extended frequency response. Its standout features include superior audio quality, a headphone preamp for latency-free monitoring, and a sleek design. However, it falls short with a flimsy tripod stand and limited cardioid polar pattern compared to more flexible options like the Blue Yeti. Despite these minor drawbacks, its affordability and performance make it a top choice for quality-conscious users, earning it high praise in the podcasting community.

Good audio quality, Picks up too much background noise.

I have used this for recording albums, I got great audio quality but it is so sensitive that It could pick up people walking up and down stairs in my house while recording. Good to start with, I recommend something more versatile that picks up less background noise and uses XLR.

The best of the standard

The quality of this microphone signed Audio-Technica is the best I had the opportunity to try. It has me so much more than I adapted the USB model that allows you to make settings on the microphone and you don't need a sound card. The possibility of connecting a headset can be useful. Ideal for podcasters or Home Studios
