Description
An easy-to-use, versatile overdrive pedal with great tone, retro style, and incredible sonic flexibility: the Carl Martin DC-Drive.
The Carl Martin Vintage Series DC-Drive is an overdrive pedal designed with two concepts in mind: versatility and simplicity. Equipped with all of the standard controls you'd typically find on an overdrive pedal, the DC-Drive sports Level, Drive and Tone knobs that allow you to control the volume of the signal, the amount of overdrive, and of course, the tone. Setting this overdrive pedal apart from the rest, the DC-Drive incorporates an onboard clean boost after the drive section as well as a Regular/Fat voicing switch.
Dial in up to 15dB of ultra-clean volume with the Boost knob and activate it on-the-fly via the independent Boost switch. Boost your clean signal when you need extra volume without any grit, or use in conjunction with the overdrive signal for added volume without coloring the sound of the overdrive.
The Regular/Fat voicing switch can take you from a classic, old-school drive to a more modern overdrive at the simple flick of a switch. More neutral and flat, the REG voicing offers a more generic overdrive while the FAT setting will beef up your drive and add gain for a more contemporary overdriven tone. Fine tune the sound of each voicing via the standard Level, Drive and Tone controls.
With two high-quality pedals in one convenient retro-style diecast housing, the Carl Martin Vintage Series DC-Drive will make a great addition to any pedalboard. Powered by a 9v battery or regulated 9v power supply.
Awesome pedal.
Great "two in one", highly professional pedal, very much along the lines of the Fulltone FullDrive, however with the benefit of being able to use either the Overdrive or the Boost, or both, and the tones it produces are definitely in the "best of boutique" category. A little noisy at higher settings, I found Keeley stuff to be the best in this department also, however with the amp on crunch I can happily keep the Gain on the pedal at 12 o'clock and still get that "turbo charged 70s British Rock" sound we all know & Luv! Very hard to beat...
