Chase Bliss Audio MOOD Review and Demo – Guitars For Idiots

guitarsforidiots.com

The Chase Bliss Audio MOOD is a delightful blend of creativity and complexity, proving to be both an inspiring tool and a sonic playground for musicians. While its price tag of $349 may deter some, the pedal's rich array of reverb, delay, and looping effects offers an enticing soundscape that can elevate any performance. The reviewer highlights its versatility, expressing joy in exploring its granular looper and intricate controls. However, the MOOD’s steep learning curve and luxury pricing make it less accessible for all players. Still, its ability to ignite passion for guitar playing is a notable achievement. A compelling option for adventurous musicians, but not necessarily a necessity for everyone.

Chase Bliss Audio: M O O D Granular Micro-Looper/Delay Pedal | Tape Op Magazine | Longform candid interviews with music producers and audio engineers covering mixing, mastering, recording and music production.

tapeop.com

Chase Bliss Audio's M O O D pedal invites experimentation and creativity, transforming it into a sonic collaborator rather than just an effect. With its dual-channel looping and extensive modulation options, it excels at producing unique soundscapes that can both inspire and challenge musicians. However, its unconventional nature may deter those seeking straightforward effects, as it can veer into chaotic territory. The price point of $349 is significant but reflects its innovative features. Ultimately, M O O D is a playground for sound exploration, but it requires an adventurous spirit to fully embrace its capabilities.

MOOD Granular Micro-Looper/Delay Review: I generally avoid $300+ pedals, I'm not nearly intelligent enough to... | Chase Bliss Audio | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Chase Bliss Audio MOOD is a sonic playground that delivers endless creativity, though it comes with a learning curve. While its ease of use is rated a modest 7, the pedal's impressive sound capabilities earn a perfect 10. The quality of the reverb and delay effects is exceptional, making it a joy to explore. However, at $350, it may feel overpriced for those less inclined to dive deep into its complexities. Despite this, the build quality is stellar, ensuring it can withstand the rigors of live performance. This pedal is a delightful contradiction, charming even those who typically shy away from boutique effects. If you're ready to invest time and money, the MOOD will reward you with unique soundscapes and creative possibilities that might just redefine your music.

So many options

Another pedal that need midi control. There so many sounds available here it really just depends on how patient you are.

Versatile, Incredible

I bought this pedal because of the glitchy weird sounds I saw it was capable of using the micro looper. It felt like I was paying too much for it, but I was enchanted by that sound and had to have it.

What I was not expecting was that this pedal would also be the best delay and the best reverb pedals I own. With 2 writeable presets this is easily my most versatile single pedal and is a staple of a lot of our songs live/studio.

Beautiful, Ambient and Psychedelic effects

Turns a note into a pad. Turns a phrase into a stuttery loop. Can act as a simple reverb or delay. You can back your own playing with the micro-looping effects. This thing has two channels that feed into each other. Use the mix knob to go 100% wet and just start messing with the signal. Run anything into it and see what happens.

This is emma’s first Chase Bliss pedal, and they use it consistently in several recordings and streams afterwards. From the MOOD’s “pedal feedback” video:

the MOOD is one of the centrepieces of my pedal work. whether it be for the purposes of quickly grabbing feedback and sculpting it into industrial alien spaces as heard in this video or for grabbing onto a small clip of anything else happening in the pedal chain and turning it into a sound bed to work on top of, there's always a reason to use the MOOD. this pedal absolutely changed the way i work with feedback, as did its kind-of-sister, the blooper (which i won't have a video on, as it doesn't take to feedback nicely - it serves its typical purpose as a looper/editor in my pedal setup)
