Critic Reviews

Expressive E Touché

soundonsound.com

The Expressive E Touché delivers a groundbreaking tactile experience for controlling synthesizers, bringing a new level of expressiveness that’s both intuitive and satisfying. Its combination of vertical and horizontal motion allows for nuanced control over multiple parameters simultaneously, making it a joy for both hardware and software synth users. However, it does have significant limitations, as it currently only supports Mac OS for the accompanying software, and the range of compatible VSTs is limited. For those willing to navigate these hurdles, the Touché offers an inspiring tool for creativity, though Windows users may need to wait for future updates.

cycling74.com

The Expressive E Touché stands out as an innovative multidimensional controller, seamlessly bridging hardware and software for unmatched expressive input. Its robust I/O capabilities and user-friendly interface make it a versatile tool for diverse setups. However, while it excels in flexibility and build quality, some may find its complexity daunting. The ability to fine-tune pressure sensitivity is a brilliant touch, yet the price might deter budget-conscious musicians. I am loving the new Touché pedal or hand controller from Expressive. I connect it to my hardware synths and then assign different parameters to it like LFO, filter, etc. It really gives you so much more expression and feeling out of your synths with just the slightest touch of your fingertips. I used it a lot when I made my track ‘Draumzer’ (also on Mobilee). I can’t recommend it enough!
