In celebration of 120 years of making some of the finest and most influential instruments on the planet, Gibson USA has gone through their most popular models and found ways to improve, expand upon, and perfect their guitars for the year 2014. Also these models come equipped with Cleartone coated strings, a Graph Tech nut, and cryogenic treated fret wire for longer life and corrosion resistance. Also some new models are being introduced to meet the demands of musicians’ ever expanding taste and playing styles.
With the 2014 Les Paul Standard Premium Quilt, you get the modern features of a Standard, with a gorgeous AAA quilted maple top. The tops are hand-picked, and each guitar comes with a backplate signed by the Gibson employee that personally bookmatched it. The mahogany body is given “modern” weight relief for the ultimate comfort and playability, while an asymmetrical ‘60s slim taper neck offers a combination of comfort and fast playability. The rosewood fingerboard is also given a compound radius so your hand feels equally at home playing cowboy chords or solos high up on the neck.
With locking Keystone Grover tuners and a TonePros locking Tune-o-Matic bridge you can stay pitch perfect, and BurstBucker Pro 1+2 humbuckers deliver modern punch and presence. Each pickup can also be split via push/pull coil tapping, and the rear pickup is wired with reverse polarity for authentic single-coil combinations. Gibson Authorized Dealer
