Description
The Atlantis provides a dynamic and versatile wealth of sound that makes picking the right microphone for even the most troublesome sources as easy as flipping a switch.
MULTI-VOICING®
CHANGE MICROPHONES WITHOUT CHANGING MICROPHONES
- Forward is bold, present and modern, but never harsh.
- Neutral is smooth and earthy with a natural balancing of sibilant sounds.
- Gentle is dark and sultry with a warm vintage feel, ideal for taming bright or abrasive sound sources.
ONE OF A KIND CAPSULE
Our precision-crafted 38mm capsule is one of the largest in the world -- a one of a kind super-transducer designed in Silicon Valley and tuned by hand to capture the spirit, soul, and wonder of a performance.
THREE POLAR PATTERNS
EACH SELECTION DETERMINES WHAT THE ATLANTIS HEARS
- Figure-8 captures sound equally from the front and back of the microphone for a more open, natural recording.
- Cardioid captures sound from the front of the microphone only. This is the most commonly used polar pattern for recording vocals with minimal room reflections.
- Omnidirectional captures sound equally from all sides of the microphone for authentic, "in-the-room" instrument and vocal recordings.
PREMIUM COMPONENTS
The Atlantis signal path is populated with high-resolution, low-distortion polypropylene capacitors, a US-made low-noise FET, and a custom-wound output transformer that puts the finishing touches on every sound that passes through its copper windings.
THREE-WAY GAIN STAGING
MUCH MORE THAN JUST A PAD
- +10dB is ideal for use with quiet sound sources and consumer-grade audio interfaces.
- 0dB sets the output of the Atlantis to its default output gain selection.
- -10dB is useful when more color and saturation from a high-end preamp is desired.

Since I had little info about the place before I showed up, I had decided to plan ahead and bring some of my own stuff just in case. I brought my Lauten Eden prototype and a couple of Lauten Atlantis mics, a Dangerous compressor, BAX EQ and Source, three pairs of Focal Spirit Pro headphones so we could all listen to the same thing when tracking and a Universal Audio Apollo Twin just in case. We ended up using all of it. Including the Twin.
