Description

The BX5 Carbon studio monitor helps you track, monitor, and mix with confidence by providing accurate sound and dynamic acoustic control. Equipped with a 5" woven Kevlar low-frequency driver and 1" natural silk dome tweeter, the BX5 Carbon delivers a flat frequency response, enhanced stereo imaging, and increased clarity for authentic mixing in a space-saving design. The bi-amplified 70 Watt Class A/B amplification means high power with less noise and ensures that your monitoring setup can handle today's modern music with ease. With the BX5 Carbon, your music is ready for any listening environment.

Sweeter Sweet SpotThe tweeter's waveguide has been enhanced to provide an expansive sweet spot and superior stereo imaging. A wider mix position gives you professional monitoring for any caliber studio. Pinhole-mounted LED placement cues help locate and light up the sweet spot to ensure a speaker placement that reliably translates stereo information and frequencies. When the LEDs turn bright, you know you're dead center and ready to start mixing your sessions or laying down tracks with the BX5 Carbon.

Acoustic Control

Mixing doesn't occur in a vacuum. Your listening environment influences your mixing decisions and, ultimately, the sound of your music. The BX5 Carbon's Acoustic Space Control, a series of calibration switches, helps provide optimal acoustic conditions for tracking, mixing, and monitoring anywhere. Adapt the BX5 Carbon to any mixing environment-from bedrooms to basements to professional studios-without compromising frequency detail or stereo image. The result is a flexible monitoring setup for the most demanding mixing environments.

Critic Reviews

M-Audio BX5 Carbon review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The M-Audio BX5 Carbon shines as an affordable, compact monitor with a robust build and surprising volume capabilities, ideal for smaller spaces. It impresses with its bass adjustment feature for tricky acoustics, though it lacks a high-frequency trim. While the low mids can feel slightly thin, the overall sonic balance excels for vocals and reverb work. Despite the absence of front controls, its Acoustic Space option makes it adaptable for various room setups. At £178, these monitors offer excellent value, though a notched volume control would enhance usability. Ideal for mid to quiet volume levels.

M-Audio BX5 Carbon Review | PCMag

pcmag.com

The M-Audio BX5 Carbon studio monitors deliver impressive accuracy and a robust bass presence at an affordable price, making them a solid choice for both home and professional studios. While the acoustic space switch is a nice touch for adjusting sound near walls, the high-mids can feel slightly dampened, and the volume knobs lack precision, necessitating careful setup. Despite these minor drawbacks, the BX5 Carbon provides a balanced, flat-response sound signature that caters well to those who prefer less emphasis on high-mids. Overall, it’s a dependable choice for accurate audio monitoring without breaking the bank.

The M-Audio BX5 Carbon speakers impress with their incredible sound clarity and balanced audio, ideal for audiophiles on a budget. While their lack of bass or treble controls might be a drawback for some, they deliver a truthful sound representation, essential for studio monitors. The speakers boast a sturdy build and exceptional soundstage that fills the room, making them suitable for music and movies alike. Although they lack RCA inputs, a simple adapter can solve this issue. Overall, the BX5 Carbons stand out with their analytical sound, providing deep insight into mixes, though they might not be the best choice for those seeking a more forgiving sound profile.
