Description
Step into the rich legacy of rock and roll with the Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-M, a dynamic fuzz pedal that pays homage to its legendary predecessor while offering modern versatility. Originally immortalized by the iconic Rolling Stones track "(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction," the original Fuzz-Tone FZ-1 set the standard for fuzz effects. Now, the FZ-M carries forward that legacy with an all-analog design that captures the classic fuzz sound and introduces a thicker, more contemporary distortion.
With its Mode toggle switch, you essentially get two pedals in one. Switch between the FZ-1 inspired fuzz and a bolder modern tone to suit any musical style. The 3-knob control layout makes it a breeze to dial in your desired sound, offering intuitive control over the fuzz amount, timbre, and output volume. The Attack knob dictates the fuzz intensity, while the Tone control shapes the sound from bright and gritty to lush and warm. Crank up the Level control for output that can soar beyond unity gain, ensuring your riffs cut through any mix.
Housed in a robust stompbox with vintage aesthetics, the FZ-M also features a true-bypass footswitch. This activates the pedal and lights up the LED bugles in the Maestro logo, giving you a visual cue of its activation. Whether you're pursuing the nostalgic tones of the '60s or exploring new sonic landscapes, the Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-M offers an unbeatable combination of classic charm and modern innovation.

Sometimes classics don't translate well
After trying several fuzzes and being rather disappointed they didn't really ruffle my hair, I was surprised and pleased that the Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-M did exactly what I wanted a fuzz pedal to do. {NOTE: As of 4/29/2026, I am immensely disappointed in this thing. Why did I buy this?}
I am in love with the retro form factor, the three bugle status LED, and how solid the construction is. This is a road-worthy pedal, perfect for anybody who wants as close to the 1960s fuzz sound as they can get. {Sometimes things from the '60s need to stay in the '60s.}
EDIT 7/24/25: The reason why I dinged it a star because of how absolutely unruly it is. I couldn't get it dialed in to save my life, hence me getting a JHS Bender.
EDIT 4/29/26: I dinged it down to two stars. Tried getting a sound out of this thing in one last attempt to make this thing worth holding on to and it disappointed me to no end. The only reason why it isn't one star is because it was a noble attempt to revive the first guitar pedal in existence.

Absolute Classic Fuzz Pedal
It has that classic 60s fuzz sound you hear with bands like The Doors and Strawberry Alarm Clock. Cuts through the mix extremely well. Also has crazy good sustain for a fuzz pedal.
