the line between OD and distortion is not as clear cut electronically as you think

I never said it was. I'd say the difference is one of degree, not of kind -- "overdrive" is just a more subtle form of what will become "distortion" when pushed to the limit. The line between "orange" and "red" is not clear cut, it's a continuous gradient, but we still distinguish between the two for the sake of communication don't we? Forgive me, I can tell this a touchy subject for you. I should have included a trigger warning. I didn't mean to imply that they were some kind of wholly different circuits inside, but that pedals marketed as "distortion" generally aren't much use on a synth, in my experience. Maybe I'm talking crazy.

Moog ladder filter in a box

I don't use this in my guitar rig, but I have it around as a stand-alone filter. It's a little limited in that regard (it's just a single low-pass filter, and resonance is an on-off switch instead of a knob), but if you just want to plug a drum machine into it and do some filter sweeps and add some grit it's not a bad option by any means, especially for the price (and it's a classic Moog ladder filter, dammit!). Kinda wish it had stereo ins/outs, but not a huge deal.

Thought about that, though it would be kind of annoying to have separate filter controls for each channel. Makes filter sweeping a bit fiddly, especially if I need one hand on the pedal and one hand on the drum machine or whatever is plugged into it. Would need three hands if I had a second pedal...

Solid Drive

This drive is my personal favorite. It's super thick and warm and the addition of a filter control is awesome. Can take a moment to figure out what you like and it can become a bit too muddy but after some fiddling around you'll be able to find whatcha like. The Expression aspect is a cool bonus, i don't use it but it is super rad.

Great for using to kind of give what ever synth bass or lead that moogy timbre or just cranking the OD for menace.

Moog MF Drive

Very good looking pedal. Not easy to figure out your sound cause it has so many. It's a nice drive pedal with a fuzzy high end.

This is a great pedal for what it's meant for.

This pedal is a LIGHT overdrive pedal. It is not meant for heavy, roaring metal. So, if you try to use it for that, it will likely not sound very good. But for what it is (a LIGHT overdrive pedal), it works great!
