When I first started using Cubase about a month ago, it was a bit of a challenge because I knew nothing about producing, but this program is fairly easy to use after the initial shock of opening it. the library is pretty easy to navigate and its been very fun to learn. Very customizable as well which is a plus. It looked pricy but very worth every penny. I do recommend getting a Steinberg Key though.

If you're new to production i'd highly recommend Cubase Elements, but for more complex music production i wouldn't recommend getting Elements.

It's a very nice DAW If you're just getting started with production. I'd like to add that coming from Ableton live it was very easy for me to integrate myself into it.

For my work that required a lot of compression, EQ-ing and layering, it didn't last very long until i realized i already had to upgrade. A DAW without sidechain compression won't get me very far. As well as it's quite limited with Instrument tracks and midi tracks, which is a crucial point to my work.

That being said, you do get what you pay for and i would recommend it for those who are new to the scene, or have less complex work or ideas.

Probably one of the best DAWs out there. Totally worth it.

Cubase 8 (Even Elements), is probably one of the world's best DAWs, with over 25 years of expert work, a clean and simple interface, and an even greater sound, Cubase is 100% something I would recommend to anyone, whether you're a producer just starting out, or a pro, Cubase should be perfect for you. Although it does take some time to get used to how everything is routed, as well as learning how to set up your audio properly, once you have the knowledge, you have everything you need to get cracking on your new track. For the price, it is, in my honestly opinion, the best DAW I have ever purchased.

Favorite DAW of all the ones I've tried

I've been using cubase for almost 5 years now, its been my go-to for so long now that its really just like home in a audio program now. Its got vast features (I'm sure would be further expanded if I could be less lazy and actually upgrade) and has a very crisp set of plugins, I especially enjoy the VST Amp Rack and the saturation plugins included.

The best version of Cubase ever!!!!

Nothing beats this beast of a DAW. I use it for making my dance music tracks, as well as my orchestral scores. I'm a happy Cubase camper. I've used almost all of them in my 20+ years as a producer....but I still keep coming back to Cubase. It's the best out of all of them. Truly a producer's tool for creating.

Great daw for composing and film work.

Has everything an orchestral composer would ever need, great midi workflow, macros and expression maps, not to mention the logical editor which enables you to automate tedious processes and bind them to macros.

The best DAW for those who do everything

I have been using Cubase since 2008, and It does everything that i need it to do. And it gets better every time. You still need a lot of additional plugins to do a professional mix, but to make music, you dont. It may have a little to many features, that some times gets in the way, but i guess all the other DAW's has that. Recommend this for everyone that wants to do professional mixes, as well as all the other things.
