Versatile, inspiring & yet simple
When looking for a nice-sounding delay to play with during the pandemic, I gave the Faux Tape Echo v2 a shot. I had already been quite happy with two other Wampler pedals (Ego Compressor, Paisley Deluxe) and - as I was looking for something which might sound like a real tape delay (had a chance to use one briefly years ago) according to my memory.
In brief: Type of musician: decently skilled afterwork'n'weekender w/ years of band exp. Reason for purchase: pandemic; something to play with Unboxing: nothing to complain about; everything included - Wampler-style Build quality: excellent; sturdy
Likes: + simplicity (no hidden menus or combo-button functions; just a few knobs to play around with) + sound (very nice slapback; great flexibility with subdivisions) + sturdy, robust design

A real sleeper!
This pedal is like a simplified El Capistan. Some may find this statement to mean that the Wampler is a lesser pedal, which is not at all true. The delay on this thing is super neutral and sits really well underneath your guitar signal. I also really love that it has a tone knob for the repeats, and I feel like more companies should take note of that.
