  • Some owners find the plastic keys feel fragile, with a perception that they could snap under heavy use.

    Source
  • Owners report that while the MPK Mini Mk3 is functional, it can slow down workflow compared to using a mouse for MIDI input.

Akai MPK mini mk3 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Akai Professional MPK Mini Mk3 is an impressive upgrade featuring a responsive keybed, enhanced MPC pads with aftertouch, and a sleek OLED screen for real-time feedback. While the continuous rotary knobs and improved build quality earn high marks, the stick-style pitch/modulation control might not be to everyone's taste. Overall, it effectively combines portability with professional features, making it a top choice for musicians on the move.

Amazing for the price, never have had any issues with it

Great feel, awesome interface, I only have one small complaint but it may not be a universal issue with this midi keyboard, the pads are not as sensitive as I would have hoped but maybe I just need to tap harder.

matthew_colreavy

perfect for taking in your backpack

I use this together with my MPC Live2 or laptop with Ableton Live. Wherever my MPC Live2 or laptop go, this goes too. Planes, trains, or cafes.

Pro's: The pads are velocity-sensitive & backlit of MPC Live2 quality and can be mapped to match the MPC Live2 layout. Built-in features, e.g. arpeggiator etc., (I don't really use these but they're nice to have). USB powered, no extra power cables required. It fits easily in the same backpack together with my above hardware items. It's very portable and light. Was relatively inexpensive.

Con's: With only 2 octaves, it's more suited to record/play either the left or right hand of a track at a time. (If you want to play both hands together get a board with more keys.) Mini keys, love them or hate them.

Overall: A useful piece of kit.

It's Alright

I mainly use my computer keyboard for music production... I know a lot of people hate that but it's what I do. I wish the keys were bigger, but again I barely use it and I have it in case I ever need a backup.

Overall Great

Perfect for traveling. Has some nice features and the drum pads are top quality. Wish it had a play pause button.
