Critic Reviews

Akai MPK mini mk3 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Akai MPK Mini MK3 is a powerful, compact MIDI controller that boasts a refined keybed and impressive MPC-style pads, making it a top contender in its class. The new OLED screen offers real-time feedback, enhancing usability for live performance. However, the thumb stick for pitch bend and modulation may not suit everyone’s preference, and it could benefit from more intuitive alternatives. Despite these minor drawbacks, the MK3’s pro features solidify its place among the best portable keyboards for musicians on the go.

Size Matters!

The features and feel of this thing are very good, it works. However it’s very hard to recommend the mini to anyone unless space is an extreme limitation or portability is your priority. It is very easy to run out of space with only 2 octaves and switching the octave manually is not all that convenient mid recording if used like a synth input, the drum pads are kinda eh also.
