I like it but...

Well to be honest and I'm not being cliche' its just... Its knobs (at least on my unit) seem to suck... but it could be me (possible PEBKAC). I am in love with the joystick though. Its my favorite part and I use it with a wavetable synth with Vocant waves and literally draw my sound out of the speakers. It's so wicked on the iOS MiniMoog by Moog. Yes, this is a great controller, the "mondo" best iOS controller and a value just for Wobble alone. !! I still don't understand the MPC workflow, nor do I understand the MPC Essentials as everytime I load a sample it doesn't really seem to be in sync... no worries I'm a musical idiot stuck in my Sonic Foundry workflows...

A good basic midi controller

A great piece of equipment for people just starting out with mixing and recording via manual midis. Aiming to upgrade to something with a greater octave range for riffs and solos, but easy enough to use for layering and basic sounds.

WORKS

I do love this thing, its just that every time I look at an aturia I like the design of it more. I am a big fan of the inverted key colours however. Four stars simply due to my combined lust of the arturia and the fact that I would love to have MORE KEYS. So I might get rid of this. But otherwise it is perfect

A missed oppritunity

The Akai MPK Mini MK2 saw an improved looking interface to the original MPK Mini and many interesting color ways so I was convinced to get one. This was a mistake as the construction material of these digital controllers are very cheap and break very easily. The software included is un interesting and clunky.

Very basic, but quite useful.

I got this as my starter MIDI controller. I am actually quite pleased with it and hope it lasts a long time. It is basic, which isn't totally a bad thing. It looks pretty neat, as well.

Great for the price

Very nice to use and easy to set up. Happy with what I got for the price but not for someone whos looking to write full songs with just the midi, run out of space easily

luckycharmz

Its dope. Its small and compatible with software from GarageBand to Fruity Loops Studio to Ableton Live!!!

Its very small with many different softwares included. MPC Essentials is fun to use. NMAny companies make custom carrying cases for the MPK Mini. Its also got MPC drum pads, 8 CC effects knobs and a pitch bend joystick, octave and arpeggiator control as well as full level and note repeat.

jonathanwrites

Good midi controller.

Not much else to say, it does it's job! The keys are pretty flimsy but I guess that comes from abusing it as a live instrument rather than treating it as a studio instrument.
