    Source
  • Replacement ear cushions can be applied in 10-15 minutes, with accessible online tutorials simplifying the process.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Transparency mode on newer models is preferred over noise cancellation for awareness of surroundings, especially for users who feel noise cancellation is suffocating.

    Source
  • These headphones are not recommended for gym use due to their non-sweat-resistant design and tendency to slip off during quick movements.

    Source

User experience

  • Despite heavy usage, the material on the ear cups does not harden, maintaining comfort over long periods.

    Source
  • High tones are often described as muddy, requiring equalization adjustments for improved sound quality.

    Source

    Source

Features and functionality

  • Solo3 controls are located on the left ear, with the power button on the right, offering a distinct setup compared to other Beats models.

    Source
  • The Solo3 headphones use outdated Bluetooth 4.x and micro USB charging, which were considered obsolete as early as 2018.

    Source
  • The Beats Solo3 headphones integrate seamlessly into the Apple ecosystem, offering ease of use with Apple devices.

    Source
  • The battery life is impressive, often lasting weeks with 2-6 hours of daily use before needing a quick 10-15 minute charge.

    Source

Build quality

  • Ear cushions remain soft and comfortable even with extensive use, showing resilience against hardening that often occurs with other headphones.

    Source
  • The glossy black model's finish tends to peel over time, revealing dark grey logos underneath.

    Source
  • Owners report that the Solo3 can break in multiple places due to stretching over larger heads, although they can be repaired with careful taping.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Users compare the high tones unfavorably to those of the Logitech G332, noting a significant difference in clarity.

Beats Solo3 Wireless review: Worth it in 2024? - SoundGuys

soundguys.com

The Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones are a stylish choice with impressive battery life and seamless Apple integration via the W1 chip. While offering reliable performance for iOS users, Android owners might find the experience inconsistent. Despite its sleek design, the on-ear fit can be uncomfortable, particularly for those with glasses, and the microUSB charging feels outdated. Sound-wise, the bass-heavy profile appeals to certain genres but lacks clarity in the midrange. With no active noise cancellation, the Solo3 feels a bit dated amidst modern alternatives. Overall, it's a decent choice for iPhone users but less compelling for others.

Beats Solo 3 Wireless headphones review: veterans remain surprisingly relevant | What Hi-Fi?

whathifi.com

The Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones impress with their wireless technology, long battery life, and solid midrange sound, especially benefiting iPhone users due to the W1 chip. However, they fall short in sound detail and subtlety for their price range, and the fit can be overly tight. The absence of a Lightning connector is puzzling, especially given their target Apple audience. While they offer rich and bold sound, they lack refinement and may not satisfy audiophiles seeking intricate soundscapes. Overall, a decent choice if found at a discount and if wireless convenience is a priority.

Beats Solo3 Wireless review: Beats popular on-ear wireless headphone gains best-in-class battery life - CNET

cnet.com

The Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones impress with a best-in-class 40-hour battery life and seamless pairing with Apple devices, thanks to the W1 chip. However, their $300 price tag is steep, especially when the sound quality doesn't surpass other models in this range. While they shine with a bass-heavy profile and a compact design, they lack the noise-canceling features of competitors like Bose. Perfect for Apple users and bass lovers, but not the best value for those seeking superior sound or comfort.

Good for all-around use.

I use these for when I'm making beats or recording songs. They work well as studio monitors and as day-to-day casual headphones. They have bluetooth capability, which is great for use with phones, along with a W3 chip from Apple, which makes it absolutely SEAMLESS to connect it to my Mac and my iPhone, however I prefer to just use the cable when I use them for music production because bluetooth causes pretty major output lag. (They also came free with my Macbook, which is pretty sweet.)

Great!

Great headphone! Good bass and treble. Use them all the time. Wireless is beautiful. Only problem is that it sometimes doesn't connect to Ableton on Wireless mode.
