Critic Reviews

BeatsX review: BeatsX wraps AirPods tech in a neckband-style headphone for less - CNET

cnet.com

The BeatsX Wireless Earphones offer a comfortable, lightweight, and sports-friendly neckband design with good sound quality and seamless Apple device pairing. However, they fall short with slightly long cords and a treble that may sound too sharp for some users. While the $150 price tag is on the higher side, the BeatsX stand out for their design and quick-charge capability. They are a solid choice for Apple users favoring a neckband style over AirPods, though not without some compromises in sound balance. Overall, a decent mix of form and function for those who value brand integration.

BeatsX review: Still not a bad pair of buds - SoundGuys

soundguys.com

The BeatsX wireless earphones offer a stylish, minimalist design and reliable features like Class 1 Bluetooth and the W1 chip, making them a solid choice for iOS users. However, they fall short in sound quality and battery life, providing just 5.45 hours of playback. The lack of an IP rating means they're not water-resistant, and with the newer Beats Flex on the market, the BeatsX are mostly appealing if found at a discount. While they deliver decent connectivity and a comfortable fit, their discontinued status and better alternatives make them a less compelling choice today.

Beats BeatsX Wireless Review - RTINGS.com

rtings.com

The BeatsX Wireless Earphones offer a lightweight and flexible neckband design, making them ideal for sports and on-the-go use. With a well-balanced sound profile and a touch of bass, they cater to EDM and hip-hop fans. However, their battery life is underwhelming, and the headphones are optimized for iOS, leaving Android users with limited features. The neckband may not be comfortable for everyone, and the treble lacks detail, making the sound seem dark. Quick charging is a plus, but their passive noise isolation is only decent. Overall, a mixed bag depending on your device and comfort preferences.

Beats X Wireless Earphones review | TechRadar

techradar.com

The BeatsX Wireless Earphones offer superb comfort, seamless iOS integration, and a swift Quick Charge feature, making them a solid choice for both workout enthusiasts and everyday listeners. However, they fall short in sound clarity and are relatively costly, with better audio options available at lower prices. Despite their balanced sound signature, noise isolation is lacking, and the use of a Lightning Cable for charging may deter Android users. Overall, the BeatsX is a decent pick if you're after comfort and battery life, but audiophiles might seek higher-quality alternatives.

Beats BeatsX Review | PCMag

pcmag.com

The BeatsX Wireless Earphones receive high marks for their powerful audio performance, boasting rich bass and clear highs, thanks to Apple's W1 chip for seamless connectivity with iOS devices. The excellent wireless range and reasonable price make them a standout choice. However, the lack of an auto power-down or sleep mode is a notable oversight, and the sculpted sound may not satisfy audio purists. Overall, the balanced sound and connectivity perks earn the BeatsX an Editors' Choice award.

Definitely not for music production, but their OK anyway.

Sound quality is OK, definitely not brilliant, but for the money it's pretty good. As the tradition goes with any pair of Beats is that the bass is noticeably emphasised. This can be good but also bad. It really depends on what you're using them for. There is little to no sound-bleed from it which is nice, it has a decent seal, and isn't water resistant. Don't wear these in heavy rain.
