Blackstar Dept. 10 Boost review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Blackstar's Dept. 10 Boost Tube Boost Pedal delivers rich tube-like warmth and impressive tone-shaping capabilities, making it a strong contender in the crowded boost market. Its robust build and intuitive controls enhance any rig's sound. However, potential buyers should be cautious of its high current draw, requiring a compatible power supply. While it excels in adding depth and sustain, its niche may not be for everyone, especially with many alternatives available. Overall, it's a solid choice for those seeking a natural tube-driven boost.

The Big Review: Blackstar Dept. 10 Boost, Dual Drive & Dual Distortion

guitar.com

Blackstar's Dept. 10 Boost Tube Boost Pedal delivers a compelling performance with its robust design and solid features, including a powerful 25dB boost and an intuitive EQ that enhances tonal flexibility. Its appeal lies in its simplicity and ability to push amps hard, making it a worthy addition for boost enthusiasts. However, while it shines as a standalone unit, the review hints at a lack of advanced features compared to its Dual siblings, which may leave some players wanting more versatility. Despite this, it remains an excellent choice for musicians looking for an affordable, high-quality boost pedal.

Very good boost. Just ads whole more preamp section to your sound.

100% happy with this this one, sounds very nice, controls are very simple, EQ is very convenient and not too sensitive.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Boosting my Victory V4 for nice edge of breakup sound or boost my Blackstar HT Dual Drive Pure Valve Distortion to get very high gain sounds. Great for my Telecaster and setup.
