The sturdy yet stylish aluminum design, alongside innovative features like the Iso-Pod system, ensures minimal sound distortion. Great Sound Poor Quality Internal Hardware

After having them for 2 months after previous owner one stopped working due to internal issues, very upsetting after paying nearly 2,000$ for a product. Online forums list this as a reoccurring problem with this model but if you did not search for this particular problem you wouldn't stumble upon it. This problem has been fixed with the later 8050b model. Other than that very detailed frequency response, great overall speaker to produce music on. I HIGHLY SUGGEST THE 8050b NOT THIS MODEL!!

Great review, thanks for the heads up on the 8050A vs 8050B. It's unfortunate, they aren't cheap!

What type of music do you produce? I owned Genelecs for a brief period and they were SO honest! It was a shock hearing music through them compared to the Alesis M1s I had before!

bommel

Great!

I measured them and they are very linear, but sound almost too good. So adding ns10 or avantone mixcubes would be optimal.

At picture number 3 we can see Avicii's Genelecs. They have an 8" woofer - I know that because they are sitting right next to the 8" KRKs. I know they are 8050s, not 8040s because the tweeter looks to be from an 8050. Also they are 8050A, because that's the only model of 8050 that existed in October 25, 2011.
