Gibson’s Dave Amato signature model combines a ‘59 Les Paul with Axcess specs | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Gibson's Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard is a bold blend of vintage charm and modern functionality, featuring a stunning finish and player-friendly specs like a Floyd Rose tremolo. While some purists may be put off by the tremolo on a Les Paul, the guitar's playability and tonal quality are undeniable. However, at $5,099, it’s a significant investment that may deter budget-conscious musicians. Overall, this guitar is a solid choice for those seeking a versatile, high-end instrument that doesn’t shy away from innovation.

The Gibson Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard is a striking fusion of classic and modern features, showcasing a beautiful "Boston Sunset Fade" finish and a solid construction that merges the essence of a '59 Reissue with contemporary playability. Its White Ebony fingerboard and Floyd Rose tremolo add to its versatility, allowing for expressive play. However, the hefty price tag of $5,099 may deter some players. While the guitar excels in aesthetics and sound, its niche appeal may not suit everyone’s style. Overall, it’s a high-quality instrument for those seeking a unique blend of tradition and innovation.

Developed in collaboration in Amato.

The Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard is the ultimate mash-up of vintage Gibson aesthetics and modern player features. Dave has played Les Pauls on stage for the last four decades, but lately he has been forced to choose between his two favorites -- a '59 Reissue and a Les Paul Axcess. So began a collaboration between Dave and the experts at Gibson Custom Shop to develop Dave's "perfect" Les Paul. The result is a beautiful and versatile Les Paul Axcess model unlike anything else available. Dave requested a figured top with a "Boston Sunset Fade" finish (inspired by his home town), a unique White Ebony fingerboard, an extra-chunky neck profile, a Floyd Rose tremolo and two '57 Classic Plus humbuckers. He also wanted the latest Axcess construction elements including a swept neck heel, revised back contours and an Apex headstock carve which naturally strengthens the neck. It is now Dave's main guitar on tour and in the studio, representing only the best of his favorite specs.
