Description
The Gibson Les Paul Jr Doublecut Cherry Red is an instrument that marries simplicity with pure, unadulterated rock 'n' roll spirit. Introduced in 1958, this guitar has become a timeless favorite among musicians who crave a straightforward, yet powerful sound. Its double cutaway body design allows for effortless access to higher frets, making it a versatile choice for both rhythm and lead guitarists. The striking Cherry Red finish is not just a visual statement; it’s a nod to its rich heritage.
Built with a solid slab mahogany body, this guitar resonates with warm, full-bodied tones that are accentuated by its single P-90 pickup. In terms of equipment, we use a mixture of old and new, analog, digital, whatever sounds best. Theres a myth that everything we use is ‘vintage’ or we’re trying to sound ‘vintage’, but that’s not true. I’ve used a cheap, modern Japanese Les Paul Jr on every one of our albums because it plays great. We’ve used old amps, new amps, vintage mics, new pedals….whatever sounds good, it doesn’t matter.
At 9:07 in the video, you can see Elvis is using a Les Paul Jr DC. He's been using it since roughly 2012.
