Description

The Gibson Les Paul Jr Doublecut Cherry Red is an instrument that marries simplicity with pure, unadulterated rock 'n' roll spirit. Introduced in 1958, this guitar has become a timeless favorite among musicians who crave a straightforward, yet powerful sound. Its double cutaway body design allows for effortless access to higher frets, making it a versatile choice for both rhythm and lead guitarists. The striking Cherry Red finish is not just a visual statement; it’s a nod to its rich heritage.

Built with a solid slab mahogany body, this guitar resonates with warm, full-bodied tones that are accentuated by its single P-90 pickup. The P-90, known for its punchy midrange and crisp attack, delivers a sound that's both raw and articulate. Coupled with a Rosewood fingerboard, the Les Paul Jr ensures smooth playability and a comfortable grip. The simplicity of its design is its strength, offering an unembellished platform that lets your individual style shine through.

Whether you're channeling the energy of John Lennon, the edge of Billie Joe Armstrong, or the raw power of Johnny Thunders, the Gibson Les Paul Jr Doublecut Cherry Red is a trusted companion in the pursuit of musical expression.

Key Features:

  • Solid slab mahogany body
  • Double cutaway design for easy fret access
  • Single P-90 pickup for a powerful, punchy tone
  • Rosewood fingerboard

Used a 91 Gold Top model and a 70's Les Paul Double Cut Junior. The Gold Top was given to Troy Van Leeuwen and the Double Cut Les Paul Junior was borrowed from Dave Catching. Homme nowadays claims he's never played a Les Paul.

In terms of equipment, we use a mixture of old and new, analog, digital, whatever sounds best. Theres a myth that everything we use is ‘vintage’ or we’re trying to sound ‘vintage’, but that’s not true. I’ve used a cheap, modern Japanese Les Paul Jr on every one of our albums because it plays great. We’ve used old amps, new amps, vintage mics, new pedals….whatever sounds good, it doesn’t matter.
