Description
The original JangleBox compressor/sustainer is the pedal that captured the clean, bright ringing chime popularized by the Beatles, enhanced by the Byrds, and integrated into the sonic palettes of Tom Petty and so many other contemporary groups.
We added some subtle tweaks from the first (red-lettered) JangleBox that make this unique pedal even better: a more stable IC chip, a more standardized power polarity and an enclosure that sits a bit closer to your pedal board.
This simple plug-in/play compression pedal creates a bold sustain that will give your Ric, Tele, Gretsch, Strat — whatever the guitar — remarkable presence. Unlike pedals that clip or distort the original signal, the JangleBox expands the compression “sweet spot” to maintain a clean, even tone, with true bypass.
Compact and powerful, the JangleBox is ruggedly constructed for demanding pros and aspiring artists alike. Whether you’re looking to get that Beatles/Byrds chime and jangle, never-ending slide sustain, Nashville “squish,” or just a big, clean boost, the JangleBox delivers the distinctive compression edge.
Dimensions: 3.68" x 4.67" x 1.18" (94mm x 119mm x 30mm) Power adapter: 9V, 100mA, 2.1mm x 5.5mm barrel, pin-negative (not included).

Mike Campbell endorses the JangleBox Compression/Sustain pedal, highlighting its ability to produce the iconic "Bells of Rhymney" sound. He emphasizes that when paired with a Rickenbacker 12-string guitar, the pedal delivers the signature silky tones reminiscent of The Byrds.
When Rickenbacker stopped producing your signature guitar, that compressor was discontinued along with the guitar. I’m surprised they never marketed a stompbox version of it.
It was the best sounding compressor I ever used until the Janglebox came along. I suppose it was because Rickenbacker is not in the effects business. I did the entire Back From Rio album with that Rick compressor. The Janglebox is now the bestsounding compressor on the market in my opinion—I use it all the time. It’s clean and quiet, and it sounds very close to the built-in one I have in the 370/12/RM. As far as that guitar goes, they produced a thousand and sold every one. John Hall won’t reissue it because he wants to keep the collectible mystique alive, I suppose, but I wish he would reissue it.
The pedal that Brian uses is a Super Pedals brand, Jangly model, a boutique pedal and can be seen on the manufacturer's website, where there is a photo of Brian with the pedal and in videos of his performances.
"This compressor has been out for a while, but I’ve just discovered it in recent months and have been using it quite a bit. It seems you can never have enough compressors, and this one has inked out a spot of it’s own. If you’re looking for the super jangly tone à la the Byrds’ Roger McGuinn’s Rickenbacker 12-string, this stompbox will be all you need (along with a 12-string Rick, of course). Also think “Ticket to Ride.” It compresses hard with plenty of gain and perfect amount of pick attack, and has a three-way tone switch that I leave on Bright the majority of the time. It sounds like your bestrecorded, super-compressed guitar, without any weird, cruddy compression artifacts. I’ve noticed they’ve come out with the JB2, with additional controls for tone, gain and attack. Added extra fun. "
