Orange O Tone 40 review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Orange O Tone 40 combo amp packs a punch in a compact, portable package, making it ideal for gigging guitarists who need power without the bulk. With impressive clean headroom and depth, this amp delivers a surprisingly large sound for its size. The onboard reverb and tremolo enhance its versatility, though the limited footswitch options may disappoint some. While it doesn't overdrive on its own, it's a fantastic platform for pedal users seeking a clean slate. Despite minor drawbacks, the O Tone's blend of power, portability, and tone-shaping potential earns it a strong recommendation.

Orange O Tone 40 review – the world’s loudest practice amp?

guitar.com

The Orange O Tone 40 is a paradoxical powerhouse. It delivers big, clean tones perfect for pedal enthusiasts and offers a compact design for small gigs, enhanced by onboard reverb and tremolo. However, its weight makes it cumbersome for a practice amp, and it lacks the iconic Orange crunch, leaving purists wanting. Despite noticeable noise when idle and a limited tremolo speed, its ability to handle dirt pedals with finesse shines. If you're chasing a pedal-friendly, loud, clean slate and can overlook its quirks, this amp could be your match.

Very good Orange combo for starters

This was my first beefy amp, I was playing on a mini fender practice amp before. I was blown away by this amp. You get EQ, tremolo, reverb. No gain/drive control so clean amp, but good to use pedals. There's also an effects loop. I'm not versed in gear pricing, but I think it was worth the price!
