Description

This is the Dirty Tree Boost pedal. Combining 2 pedals that are either hard to find or too expensive into one small box. The toggle switch controls the tone stack functionality. When in TC mode the tone stack is enabled. When in DT mode the external tone stack is disabled and the tone stack is fixed using carefully selected capacitors and resistors to nail that tone that is otherwise unachievable. Use this into that big high gain tube rig to get those beloved modern metal tones. Using an internal charge pump it boosts that 9VDC up to about 33VDC Internal non-sacrificial reverse polarity protection and power filtering ensure that this pedal can be used with any 9v power supply with negative centre

Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Peper Pedals Dirty Tree V2.

Features and functionality

  • The Dirty Tree V2's DT mode is praised for its ability to cut low end and lower mids, creating a "cocked wah" or "5150ish" vibe ideal for aggressive chugging.

    Source
  • Treating the Dirty Tree V2 as a "third channel" alongside clean and crunch tones can add a "crushtastic" element to metal amp setups like the Mesa Badlander.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • This pedal excels with guitars tuned to lower tunings, like B or lower, rather than standard or drop C, enhancing the tightness of the sound significantly.

    Source
  • The Dirty Tree V2 is particularly favored for modern high-gain setups, especially when paired with Boogies and 5150 amplifiers.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Compared to the MXR Modified Super Badass OD, the Dirty Tree V2 can make standard-tuned setups sound thin and honky, whereas the MXR provides a more balanced tone.

    Source
  • The Dirty Tree V2 is noted for pushing into fuzz territory when cranked in TC mode, contrasting with the MXR's fuller sound using its 100hz knob.

    Source
  • Owners have replaced Maxon OD808, OD808X, Ibanez TS-9, Mesa/Boogie Flux Drive, and TC Spark with the Dirty Tree V2 and MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D. due to superior tone.

    Source

User experience

  • Some users found the TC mode's bass control sweep difficult to use, with one reporting it felt flubby and neutered bass and resonance on their setup.

Wow

This is a TC Electronics Integrated Preamp and a Fortin 33 in the same box. Nuff said.
