Truly fantastic-the model, not the QC
I love this guitar. But the tuning stability was garbage. Like, really bad, out of tune every 10 seconds. Put in locking tuners, got it set up, got a little better. But not much. Use a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge.
Update: The quality control of mine is awful, I started noticing dead frets and a grounding issues so bad it caused me to get shocked while using a microphone.

Worth the wait
After playing an SE Tremonti for years, I finally took the plunge and purchased a USA Custom 24 in blue matteo. The SE was great to play, but this is on another level. Versatility in tone, action & feel of the neck, clear brilliance from the pickups, locking tuners, 5 way rotary toggle (a volume pot that is your pickup selector) I just want more now! I love this guitar to pieces. I'll surely get another and set it up for my low tuning songs, as switching between tuning can be difficult with the tremolo. I play it through a Blackstar 50 watt valve amp, with a simple pedal board including a Cry Baby, Tube Screamer, Wampler Ego Compression, Boss EQ and a GT6 in my FX Loop for the time and delay effects. It really can play any style. It has awesome sustain. I can't believe i didn't get one sooner.

Dream Guitar.
I purchased my new PRS Custom 24 this week. It features a breathtaking 10-Top, Mahogany Back and Pattern Thin neck, PRS V12 finish over a striking Eriza Verde, and 59/09 uncovered humbucking pickups with a 5-way selector. All I can say is wow. The quality level of this guitar is far above what I am accustomed to performing on. The guitar plays so well. Balanced tones that sing through my Mesa amp. This guitar is very versatile and I can get a lot of different tones by experimenting with pickup positions and the tone/volume knobs. I'm sure that I will have more to say about this guitar further down the road but for now I will just say that it was worth the wait.

A great mix of the sound of a Les Paul, and the comfort of a Strat.
The PRS custom 24 is an incredible guitar, I have owned mine for about 15 months now, and it is brilliant. It gets the really great Les Paul sound, but without the ridiculous weight. The body shape reminds me of the Fender Strat, which is great as I love the strat for it's comfort. The coil split that you can do on it with the unique five way blade switch means that you can get a wide range of tones. It sounds really great plugged into my dads old Marshall JCM 2000 for blues rock.

One of the best sounding, most versatile, finest-crafted guitars ever made.
Yeah they look pretty, but that's just a perk. These guitars - especially the "10 top" issues like the one I had - are of the highest craftsmanship. Recommended to any player of any style who is serious about their craft. If you plan to display it as artwork, and never play it, do us all a favor and buy a poster instead. These are instruments which deserve to be used and loved. That is why I ended up selling mine after many gigs and studio sessions... I stopped playing my PRS after I got my endorsement from Holland Guitars, and received one-of-a-kind customs made specifically for me. Otherwise I would have never let my PRS go. It was definitely not inferior by any means.

I absolutely love mine. You can literally play anything with it. There are no restrictions. Incredible fret access and the fretwork is some of the best I have ever seen.

Totally agree! I often wonder why they make so many models. Especially the last 4-5 years, when their list of endorsed artists blew up huge (doubled? tripled?) they suddenly had all these new models that are basically Custom 24s or McCartys.

A nice Wood Library PRS Custom 24 with an amazing flamed maple neck (I named her: Woodie). Super easy to play due to the pattern thin neck profile and a very light guitar. She has a coil tap option by pulling up the tone knob.

PRS Custom 24(1994)
I found mine lovely PRS in a guitar center on Hollywood Boulevard LA.It was in 1993 but the certificate shows it is built in 1992.With the years getting better and better!Last year i did change the original 5 way rotary switch with a Free-Way 6 position Toggle switch made in England-much more comfortable for live situation.

An inspiration
I’m amazed at how easy this guitar plays. I replaced the rotary selector with something more my style, but over-all a beautiful and inspirational musical instrument, which doubles as a piece of art.
