T-Rex Tap Tone Pedal Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The T-Rex Tap Tone pedal is a commendable addition to the mid-price delay market, praised for its intuitive design and impressive analog warmth. Its accurate repeats and smooth response make it a favorite for live performances, offering great value for the price. While it lacks separate modulation features, the pedal's versatility, especially with its tap-tempo feature, positions it as a top contender in its category. The bite control could deliver a bit more grit, but its overall tonal refinement compensates well. Ideal for musicians seeking quality delay without breaking the bank.

This is a functional delay

I love the tap built in. The attack can change for crisp to dark with the bite. It is brighter than a Carbon Copy and darker than a DD5.

A good pedal

Since this is the only delay pedal I have, I can't fairly compare it to the others. I like that I can adjust multiple aspects of the signal; all too often people rely on the built-in effects of an amp, which only allows for the adjustment of the delay and the time. I use this quite a bit!

“I have the tap set right now for a song called One Of Us Is The Killer, which is the title track off of our latest record, where I have a kind of ping-pong-y thing going on with a linear lead. I also use it for effects and noise quite a lot, as well. There’s one song called Crossburner that I use it on quite a bit.”
