Use cases and applications

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The PolyTune 3 Mini's tuner-always-on mode is appreciated for home use, allowing tuning without needing to mute the signal.

    Source

    Source

Build quality

  • Several users report issues with the footswitch durability over time, leading to functionality problems after extended use.

Exactly what I need

This tc electronic polytune mini is perfect for my board. The single most important feature is that it is an accurate tuner. After that I can't say enough about how little real estate it takes up. Other tuners are massive compared to this. It's helpful that you can strum your guitar and get a quick idea of which string(s) is out. The display is bright which is essential to anyone that plays with the lights down. It's design is simple and it stays out of the way. What more could you ask for in your tuner?

scott_charles_king

Best Tuner

This little guy is perfect. Its so bright when you're on a dark stage and can't see. The display really got it for me. It is nice to see what strings aren't in tune when you strum. I highly recommend this over the TU-3.

david_berg

Very neat tuner for a very neat price!

I really love this little gadget! It takes almost no place on your pedalboard but the display is still big enough and the display got a very simple design. It's the most accurate tuner I have tried out and it's looks gorgeous as well.

The standard

You know what this does. Small form factor and solid build quality. If you don't have one, get one!

jayce_benton_greenleaf

Great for gigging.

I'm no particular about tuner pedals, but this pedal allows you strum all your strings at once and tells you which ones are out of tune, beautiful for concerts.

marcelo_carboni

My pick for tuner

Accurate, fast, simple, reliable, smart, small footprint, true bypass... It doesn't even show up on the board. What else to say about a tuner? For me the best option.

Works as promised.

Does what the description says. Very straightforward and intuitive. Accuracy is also commendable. Noise is somehow generated when the pedal is bypassed. Could be the cables' problems.

Tunes well

Tunes well, but my button sticks now. Have had this tuner since they came out. It's actually my oldest pedal.

nickgrooves

Best tuner ever. Silent switch, bright display visible even in direct sunlight.

PS: I have since bought a second one used. Just the best tuner pedal ever, which I never want to be without.

christheriault

It tunes

Its a mini version of the regular polytune saves real estate on my board and keeps me in tune without any hiccups.

In an interview w/ Premier Guitar, Dweezil Zappa's pedalboard is discussed here: "All of Dweezil's effects are run through the front of the Axe-FX II, rather than the effects loop. Along the top is a Bogner Ecstasy Blue, JAM Pedals Fuzz Phrase, SolidGoldFX Formula 76, TC Electronic PolyTune Mini, SolidGoldFX Electroman, JAM Pedals Big Chill Tremolo, and JAM Pedals Red Muck. Along the front of his board is the MFC-101 MIDI Foot Controller for the Axe-FX II and four expression pedals–the first one is for volume and the other three change function depending on the preset.

On the far right side of his pedalboard, Dweezil uses a custom JAM Pedals wah along with an expression pedal to control different variables on his JAM Pedals Big Chill Tremolo. In addition to this wah, he also uses a wah within the Axe-FX II depending on if he wants it before or after his distortion pedals."
