A really powerful, well integrated, and really expensive midi controller for Ableton Live

This is an amazing interface that can remove some tedious mouse-clicking from your music production process. Unfortunately, it does fall short in many way. For $800, it should be an audio-interface as well as a controller. I also think it needs to be significantly larger with more physical controls. This kind of device would be an actual instrument if the grid were 16 columns wide rather than the 8 provided. It would also greatly benefit from having 8 to 9 faders in order to quickly bring elements in and out. Real pitch bend and mod wheels would also greatly benefit the playing experience in the Push 2.

This is simply, imo, a device that is a jack-of-all-trades and a master-of-none. It doesn't go far enough in any direction to become a truly focused and essential device. If you are interested in using Live as a groovebox then the Push 2 is a really great device, but it's often much easier to reach for the mouse when you have to do more technical things to your tunes.

If your an Ableton User this is a Must have if you want to get Hands on with music Creation and Performance! not only can you produce but you can DJ by triggering tracks and loops with the on board trigger pads. blend tracks together seamlessly with its smooth multifunctional turning knobs. Add your own unique un replicate-able Effects to your live shows and album. this controller has true potential. my favorite part is the visual feedback it projects back at the user. Truly recommend.

Simply put, the most flexible, versatile and best integrated MIDI controller for Ableton live

Push is on a. category on its own, it seems unfair to compare it to other more traditional MIDI controllers. Push 2 is a carefully designed and tightly integrated all-in-one type of instrument. It allows you to control an extremely wide array of Ableton Live's features and capabilities and allows the user to spend more time playing an "instrument" than looking at the screen. It is one of the most inspiring pieces of equipment I've had, and it has become the heart of my studio in very little time.

seamless integration with ableton, great for drums or working with audio samples. pads might look a little small at first but they feel great and I've never had issues with their size. 64 is also really nice.

the pitch bend touch strip isn't great, but I rarely use that in my production so its a non factor for me.

I downloaded Ableton,for a project about a year ago, and have found it great as a sketch book for ideas, and I am now fleshing those out into songs and finished tracks. The Push has made it so simple, there is something about using hardware, you feel you are doing something tactile, like playing an instrument, rather than just producing on a laptop. Its a marriage made in heaven, and I love using it live now, all the lights going when I trigger beats, and playing odd jazzy chords on it, and the repeat function is great for so many musical moments.

If you're an Ableton power user and do a lot of live performance, you will love this

I switch between DAWs and I'm too chicken shit to do a live show at this point in my journey, so I might end up selling this. It won't be because it's a bad piece of kit though. This tool is so deeply integrated with Ableton in such a thoughtful way you can compose entire tracks, sets etc. all without every touching the computer.

Opens Ableton in new, organic ways

This continues to be my primary editing platform. I can arrange, perform, write/draft/capture, and experiment with one machine that keeps me out of menu fatigue.

Push-ing ableton to the limit

If your an ableton user this is definitely a great buy, not a must have, but definitely something that speeds up workflow tremendously and the in key mode allows you to play notes anywhere on the push without ever hitting a wrong note, this also feels a lot more intuitive that using the scale plugin and a keyboard. There are numerous videos on the web showing people making tracks just with the push without ever having to look up and i can honestly say this is definitely possible as a bit of an ableton novice this really opened up ableton up.

Best DAW controller ever

This thing makes you control the whole Ableton Live on the go, without looking onto the screen. The workflow changes a lot, but as soon as you figure out it's logic, it enhances your creativity. I make one or more sketches everytime I go using my Push 2 as it was when I only started my music way. very very inspiring!
