Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Beyerdynamic Custom One Studio.

    Source
  • The bass slider on the Custom Studio is noted for its durability and flexibility in adjusting bass levels without muddiness.

Comparisons

  • Custom Studio offers deeper sub-bass than COP, with improved mids and more balanced treble, making it a better choice for those sensitive to high-frequency fatigue.

    Source
  • Custom Studio is better suited for classical music due to its better highs and more suitable tonal balance, while COP is considered too dark for this genre.

    Source
  • Users report significant improvement in sound after a burn-in period, transitioning from harsh to mellow.

    Source

Build quality

  • Despite similar pad sizes to the DT line, the COP's pads may feel different due to material differences, such as pleather versus velour.

    Source
  • The stock velour pads differ in fabric from DT 770/990, being less soft and having a "papery" noise when moved.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Custom One Pro Plus is louder at sources with low output impedance, making it more compatible for mobile use without an external amplifier.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Custom One Pro Plus is recommended for gaming due to its warmer sound, while Custom Studio's precise sound is better for detailed music listening.

    Source
  • Custom Studio headphones are noted for a "U-shaped" sound, making them suitable for genres like Rap, Metal, and EDM.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • Switching to EDT 770 V grey velour ear pads significantly enhances comfort but increases sound leakage.

The Beyerdynamic Custom One Studio headphones impress with their robust build, comfortable design, and customizable aesthetics. The standout feature, the CUSTOM STUDIO Sound Slider, offers versatile bass tuning, making them suitable for both mixing and casual listening. With 80 Ohms impedance, they're conveniently adaptable for use with or without an amp. Although priced between $200-$250, they deliver exceptional sound quality, particularly in clarity and bass control, justifying the investment.
