Solid digital delay.

If you attach it to a stick you can use this one as a blunt weapon. It has survived multiple tours and is one of my most abused pedals by far. What's that? You want lo-fi lush modulated delays? Well fuck you, this one is solid state 1on1 carbon copy repetitions without tonal degradation all the way. It's great for special effects (i.e. that thing that Jonny Greenwood does at the end of Karma Police), rhythmic repetitions, short loops and psychedelic reverse delays. The connectivity flexibility is worth noting also, not every delay pedal gives you the chance of going out with the wet and dry signal separated on two different output jacks, this has been useful for me on live mixing situations where I use it as a hands-on effect for vocals, synths and other instruments. On top of that you can use the bypassed pedal as an active DI Box (like every other Boss pedal ever). Solid and trustworthy, one of my best buys by far.

Undeniably good delay

Never steered me wrong, and has enough features for you to question the need for another delay pedal, unless of course you were to want 2 at once. It has tap tempo functionality, and delay times ranging from super short to almost unnecessarily long with a lot of room for tweaking in between. It has many useful additional features such as 'Hold', 'Reverse', 'Warp' and is also stereo in and out.

Such a workhorse! For the last couple of years I use it for making Tera Melos -ish TRRRR effect by tapping it very quickly on a record mode. But doesn't matter which type of music I've been playing, dd6 was always helpful

ALMOST PERFECT

GOD DAMNIT... Why does this pedal have to keep going after it's disengaged?! Needs a way to turn of the trails. Why can't it cut off quickly like the other versions of the DD? I use it on the hold function with a 170ish mms slap back, but when I hold it down it goes in to infinite repeats. WHICH IS PERFECT FOR ME TO HAVE ONE DELAY THAT CAN DO BOTH THINGS I NEED SO EASILY. If someone knows a version of the DD that can use the Hold function in conjunction with a preset delay while still being able to cut the delay quickly PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Good Delay

Not the best delay on the market and not the best of the Boss delays but it does get the job done. I rarely turn it off. I use it exclusively for the dotted eighth note setting. Wish it has the option for an external tamp tempo switch like the dd5 and the dd7.

my playing style is very disjointed & it takes me a sec or two when changing chords because i'm heavy handed & rough, so i use subtle delay to mask any chord change breaks & it helps fill out the sound when i'm just strummin

Close to Perfect

It's not as savy as the DDR-7 which lets you plug a tempo switch in an extra input, but still has the same funtionallity by long-holding the pedal down. It's a boss delay too, it's worth your money.

I use for guitar and synths, works great.

Good but not great

It's a all-round good delay pedal but sometimes it lacks some power. Would prefer the DD7.
