Boss DD-200 Digital Delay review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Boss DD-200 Digital Delay is a compact powerhouse, delivering an impressive range of delay options that cater to most players' needs. Its 12 delay types and solid sound quality shine, particularly in standard and shimmer modes. However, the interface can be tricky to navigate, requiring frequent manual consultations, and it lacks the extensive capabilities of the more expensive DD-500. While it's an excellent choice for those prioritizing size and portability, serious delay enthusiasts might still lean towards the DD-500 for its superior performance and flexibility. Overall, it's a solid pedal but with notable caveats.

Boss DD-200 Digital Delay Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Boss DD-200 Digital Delay is a standout for its versatile tones and user-friendly preset management, fitting a wealth of features into a compact design. Musicians will appreciate its highly customizable voices and the ease of accessing four memory presets. However, the looper function can be tricky to master, requiring practice to operate effectively on stage. Despite minor drawbacks in specific effects like the lo-fi delay and ducking delays, the DD-200's expansive sound-shaping capabilities and value at $249 make it a worthwhile addition for both experimental and traditional players.

Boss DD-3T and DD-200 Digital Delay review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Both the Boss DD-3T and DD-200 digital delay pedals shine with pro-quality sound and user-friendly features. The DD-3T enhances the beloved DD-3 with a tap tempo function and convenient output configurations, making it a solid upgrade. Meanwhile, the DD-200 offers a plethora of sophisticated delay effects in a compact design, perfect for modern players. However, hardcore fans might find the lack of a display screen on the DD-200 a drawback compared to its predecessor, the DD-500. Overall, these pedals deliver excellent sound and versatility, making them great choices for guitarists at any level.

One and a half step from perfection but average yet...

There is tone quality in there, having some tones better than the others making it easy to find what suits you best from all the available presets. Obviously we always want to have more but the available options can cover nearly anything. Operation is fine but sometimes is hard to remember the parameter that’s being affected by the knobs (knob A, alters tone for delay type1 but for type2 alters amount of repeats/tape heads). I can live with all those but what makes me to seek for alternatives is the absence of a solid dry/wet mix control. It can never go 100% wet or 100% dry, which is a must for me. Additionally, I couldn’t find any midi channel that affects the loop-recording functions. In a few words, it was impossible to control all the looping functions from a controller pedal. I wish that boss will adjust some of those points with future firmware updates.

Great pedal

So many useable delays. Each setting can be tweaked and changed to sound unique. After 4 months I still find new hidden settings and ways to use it. Space echo, digi delay, and analog options are a real selling point. The pad echo and Tera echo sounds are super sweet for creating room in your tone. Can be used in really any setting, solo tone, Shoegaze wash with modulation and drives, slapback, anything really

Compact and improved version of Boss classic DD-20

So I had Boss DD-20 -> Source Audio Nemesis -> DD-200 Main advantage of DD-200 over the Nemesis would be the quality of sounds. I think Boss still has the best digital delay tones. Its analogue and tape sounds good too. I like the digital display that shows a numeric value of the parameter that I'm adjusting.

Awesome delay sounds in a small (ish) box

Fantastic delay sounds in a reasonably intuitive form. Only a little bigger than the standard boss stomp box so will fit on most boards well.
