Boss ME-25 multi-FX review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Boss ME-25 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal is a budget-friendly gem that punches above its weight. With a sleek design and features like COSM amp models, a looper, and USB connectivity, it offers great value for beginners and seasoned players alike. The sound quality is commendable, though it lacks the elaborate effects of pricier models. The pedal is user-friendly, but patch selection could be cumbersome for live gigs. Overall, it's a solid entry-level choice for those looking to explore effects without breaking the bank. For more control, consider upgrading to the ME-70.

Best value for a beginner to intermediate pedalboard!

The interface is pretty simple to use, I got the hang of it pretty quickly when I first got it. This pedalboard has all the sounds that you need, so you can play around with it with much freedom. It also comes with a loop pedal which is fun if you know how to use it and it can make solo performances more interesting. It also has a solo pedal where you can increase your gain, giving you more presence in a band performance when your big solo is coming up. Super useful. The variety effects on this thing is ample, you name it, it'll be there. Definitely recommend this pedal for a beginner to intermediate players.

My first pedal, and y'know what it did me no wrong.

This is my first guitar effect piece of equipment i ever owned. It did it's job. It offers a plethora of sound options, all settings are modifiable. It has a volume pedal/wah which I used the hell out of. The solo pedal is great to give your sound a little boost, and it doubles as a looper. A kind of crappy short looper, but fully functional. I appreciate what this multi-effects pedal has done for me.

Good one

Its a really cheap guitar pedal, but I believe its the best cheaper alternative honestly

The amp sims arent that good, sometimes can have too mich high frequencies, but yeah if you have time to dedicate to dial some tone,, sure you can have some good fun and also find something that you can use even for recording situations(I already record with it lol)

Start with this ;)

For my first multi effects I think I made a good pick. But now that I've reached a higher playing and experience level, it's pretty limited. For anyone that is a beginner, this is perfect, but when you start to evolve you'll feel you need something new, maybe start building a pedalboard or get something like an me-80 or a pod hd500. But I still use for guigs and everything, it's a great multi effects.

To much hassle.

You want a type of sound? Plug it in to a computer upload it to a memorybank. Tap the pedal, en voila. But it's just to much work. I've have this pedal 4 jars. ANd pluged it in twice.

You just don't have the room to improvise or choose a different sound on the fly.

The Boss ME-80 gives you more of a pedalboard feel with different pedals and settings AND you can connect it to a computer and upload the sound that you want. The best of two world. The Boss ME-25 is just not my cup of tea.

Boss ME25

I use the ME25 for clean effects, low drive, and wacky effects. The distortion in this is laughable. Unless you want a digital sounding gain, use a different unit for gain. However the effects I use for cleans do their jobs well. Using it for flavors is its strength. I love the looper. And I love having all these effects in one box. I wouldn't buy it for $200 new. But it's worth 70 bucks if you can find one new.

Excelent Cost x Benefits

It's a Great Multi-Effects Pedal. The Modulation, Delays and Reverb are so much good. The Expression Pedal is good to, a little sensible at the begining, but you can adjust the sensibility at the setup. The Distortions Tones could be better, but if you spend a little time matching the parameters of the effects, you can create a great tone.

Great multi-effect pedal

This was my first pedal, so it was really great for starting out. Be warned, that this pedal is very hard to figure out, and configure for performances. Switching to different tones would spike up the volume immediately, killing my ears. I now have switched to seperate pedals.

jonas_alves

The best first multi effects

If you need an excellent multi effects to start learning about this, it's a very nice option, but if you need an exchange of banks with addition or subtraction of momentary effects, it is quite limited. Excellent cost x benefit.

ryandano

Only like the hold function

I only use this for the hold function as everything else sounds pretty crap. The looper is awful as doesn't quantise so don't bother with that. Oh actually, I do use the solo button if I want some more volume when the hold function is on.
