Value and pricing

  • Owners suggest the guitar should be priced no more than $450 to better align with its features and competition.

    Source
  • Polishing shows light swirling on the metallic blue finish, similar to that on Harley Benton models.

    Source
  • The neck and fretwork on the new series are reportedly superior to some MIM models, providing a more authentic Fender feel.

    Source
  • The new series reportedly uses poplar bodies and laurel fretboards, similar to cheaper guitars.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Fender's ceramic pickups are said to warm up the tone on the Telecaster model.

    Source

User experience

  • Some owners feel the new series is essentially a Squier with a Fender logo, lacking distinct Fender quality.

    Source
  • One user reported that the neck and fretwork on the new models felt better than their MIM Fender, indicating a potential improvement in quality.

Fender Standard Stratocaster Review: Excellent Value/Money!

cigilovic.com

The Fender Standard Stratocaster proves to be a remarkable value proposition, especially for its era. Praised for its consistent build quality, even rivalling its American counterparts, this Mexican-made gem shines with its high-quality rosewood fingerboard. While the pickups might leave a bit to be desired in terms of responsiveness, they remain justified within the price range. The transition to the Fender Player Series has introduced some changes, yet the essence and playability remain intact. Overall, a solid choice for those seeking quality without breaking the bank.

My best girl

This is the ax I've waited my whole life to play. It's a great instrument right out of the box, but I will be adding modifications to it as time passes. I am enjoying playing it as is at the moment, but know I will want more punch out of my pick ups than these will ever give me. Experimentation is key, and in time, I will know what I am looking for when I hear it/them. In the meantime, I will enjoy her extra smooth neck and fretboard as is while I explore the tonal possibilities this gem will undoubtedly provide. I'm new to playing again, and can't wait to see what she and I can come up with. I'm no pro, I just love to play the blues and some hard rock and have always wanted a strat, glad I finally found her.

jimmarchi1

Right on, if you don't mod your strat then why get one? They are the ideal mod platform! You'll figure out what you want to improve on it, go for it, then after a few 100 gigs change your mind and gut the old girl again! Strats are so fun like that.

marcos_orozco

A solid Mexican strat!

I had a Strat a long time ago but I traded it in along with two other guitars to get my Tele. I had really missed it. So I bought a new one. Just recently, I had upgraded all of the electronics. I bought a "loaded pickguard" that has Emerson custom wiring and Porter Vintage Classic Strat pickups. I've never played a guitar more responsive than my Strat now. It's pretty much the perfect Strat for me. It plays really well and sounds fantastic.

egeozturkguitar

Awesome!!

I have 97 model and in my opinion it sounds better than Fender Elite Stratocaster. I recommend this to everyone.

bardarian

My baby!

First thing's first. This guitar plays and sounds amazing right out of the box. An American classic with the tone to back it up.
But one of my favorite things about the Stratocaster is that it's basically inviting you to dig into it and turn it into your perfect guitar. That's what I've done and it's become an absolute tone machine!

pandacup

Love this guitar

Bought this guitar on a whim after falling in love with the colour (Charcoal Frost Metallic with Maple Fretboard) and trying it out in my local music shop. Tones and playability are amazing and I always take it to gigs as a backup or as my main guitar. The clean tones available from the guitar are immense and the volume and tone controls alter the sound nicely as you'd expect.

I always thought I was a Les Paul guy but I couldn't be without this guitar (2008 model)

wivariders

Love this Guitar!

There is a reason why we have several different versions of these, because they are the best! Fender is located right here in Phoenix, AZ and we love all their guitars. The Strat is a classic and is always there when you need it. Always sounds amazing. The Les Paul doesn't always fit each song, but the Strat can morph into any sound you need with ease.

seethru

One of my favorite guitars

I love this thing. The action is perfect, which isn't always the case with Fenders. The stock pickups were pretty good, but I installed two Gibson '59s in it instead since most of my other guitars have humbuckers, and I like the sound better.

skylinerr

who puts gibbo buckers in a strat first getting a new pickguard is a real nuisance and IT'S A STRAT MAN

deathringer98

My very very first electric guitar ::: Serial #: MZ3200941

My number 1 guitar....... It’s always stays in tune and always sounds nice I’ve made one mod with a friend that got me a Seymour Duncan Custom Stagger ed SSL-5 pickup for a ( vintage sound )

firebeardmusic

Every guitarist should have one!

Mine has a rosewood neck, and more recently I've changed out the standard single coil configuration for an HSH setup. It packs a different kind of punch, but it .messes with the 2nd and 4th position magic so I may change it back. Its usually the backup to my Godin.

clifford_griffith

Standard Fender Stratocaster

My Strat has become known as a 1983 Dan Smith Era Stratocaster: 1 tone control, ! volume control and a surface jack socket. No through the body stringing. Black with maple neck and white pick guard. Although not the total conventional Strat look. Plays very nicely with a beautiful natural sustain. Although stringing is easy, be careful not to tighten too much as tremolo bridge can rise to high.
