Description
The Genelec S30 / S30NF is a three-way speaker system with three integrated power amplifiers and an active crossover network. It is designed for small and medium-sized broadcasting, drama and music studios.

The S30 / S30NF was in production between 1978 and 1992. It was replaced by the S30B / S30BNF model.

Big Sound with great detail
These are my first three-way monitor, and if I'm not mistaken, one of the the first tri-amped three-way studio monitors that went into production.
The level of detail beyond your typical small entry level studio monitor and sub is just astounding. They cover the full range beautifully. By modern standards I'm sure they are a bit off the pace, but these have served me very well in both music mixing and post production for film and TV. My only problem now is moving to a 5.1+ mixing environment in my small room, I will no doubt need to downscale to a smaller speaker system with a homogeneous sound rather than fill the gaps with other small Genelecs and a sub.
These are amazing monitors though and well worth the 2nd hand prices being asked.
