The guitar comes with a Maestro Vibrola, a feature that adds a touch of classic vibrato to your tunes, and three powerful CustomBucker Alnico III unpotted humbucking pickups, which deliver the vintage PAF tone that Gibson is renowned for. The fast, comfortable 1959 Authentic Medium neck profile and the bound ebony fingerboard with Plek'd medium jumbo frets make for an effortless playing experience. Bob Welch can be seen playing a white Gibson SG Custom in many photos and videos during his years with Fleetwood Mac, 1971-1974. In most photos and videos, he has the PAF pickup covers removed, presumably for a brighter tone.
Warren Defever is seen with a Gibson 3-Pickup SG Custom in Alpine White in a throwback Instagram post by xoxowar, highlighting his setup that includes a '70s Jordan Bosstone fuzz pedal.
