JHS MOONSHINE OVERDRIVE - Mixdown Magazine

mixdownmag.com.au

The JHS Moonshine Overdrive pedal impresses with its versatility and dynamic range, offering players two distinct modes for varying tonal needs. The 'switch up' mode shines with its refined, open sound, perfect for those seeking clarity and responsiveness. Meanwhile, the 'switch down' mode provides a thicker, compressed tone suitable for fast playing, although it might lack some punch. While the pedal's high-end frequencies might be slightly subdued for some users, its ability to enhance both digital and tube setups is commendable. Overall, the Moonshine is a solid choice for those seeking a flexible overdrive solution.

The best overdrive I've ever used.

The Moonshine sounds like a TS9 on steroids. It has more drive than you'll ever need, and somehow still leaves you wanting more. The internal 18v pump gives you enough volume so the neighbors will be taking requests as soon as you turn it on. The lower you turn the tone knob, the more fuzz-like it gets. Best overdrive in the world.

Low to medium OD with it's own sound

I have the hand painted version with a hillbilly looking fella and a jug of moonshine. Very distinct sounding pedal and great if you are looking to sound different from everyone else. I usually use it as a boost on top of my Morning Glory or Butah.

The best OD that could exist

I love this pedal, the sound, the tone, the style... this is simply the best overdrive high gain pedal I have played with. I used to rock, to play hard rock songs or simply to make the guitar a little more dirty. Since the first time I heard it, I knew this was for me.
