All the keys, knobs and sliders you could need

The M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 Controller Keyboard is one of the best MIDI controller I have played on both in the studio and live on stage. The full size velocity, sensitive, hammer action keys and the array of knobs and sliders give you all you could need to preform just about any style of music from classical concerto piano to hard trace hovers.

Build construction is great and its weight makes it stable even under heavy handed playing (as long as you have a solid keyboard stand). Knobs and sliders are smooth but not automated but at the price point not a deal breaker.

Although this model has been discontinued, the M-Audio Oxygen 88 USB MIDI controller looks like a worthy replacement.

Lots of controls I've never figured out how to use.

This thing is too heavy to gig with so I'm going to sell it and get an Alesis Ion. I hate the pitch wheel response because it is slow to return and the hard plastic has no grip. Although it feels nice to have this many keys on my main board I don't use the lowest or highest octaves so I think I only need 4 octaves. Save myself 40lbs in the process.

BIG MASTER KEYBOARD

Great hammer action keyboard with natural piano feel. I create almost every tune on this key.

Midi Controller with many possibilities but of low quality

The strong point of this midi controller is the number of assignable buttons, faders, and knobs. But both the key, the weight, and the quality of the material (not the casing) make me give it 2 stars.

I use this to get the original feeling of grand piano when I record piano parts.
