While the Moog Minimoog Model D Reissue retains its legendary sound, it faces scrutiny for its high price tag and limited features compared to modern alternatives. The added LFO and MIDI capabilities enhance usability, but some purists may find the deviations from the original disappointing. Ultimately, this synth may appeal more to nostalgia and collectors than to practical musicians seeking versatility. It’s a classic with a hefty price, and while it delivers a rich sonic experience, the justification for its cost remains murky.

Maybe the best sounding synth I have ever heard..

Hyperbole aside, this is an absolutely monstrous synthesizer. It's simple to use, with jumbo controls and built like a tank. It offers a surprisingly diverse sound palette and instantly gives you the 70s analog synth vibe. I will be sad to think this is no longer manufactured but grateful to Moog for hand building a fleet of modernized Model D.
