Great Marshall tones

Sadly a mostly overlooked pedal, the Hot British spans tones from Little Wing to NWOBHM. It's not quick to switch between gain or EQ settings, but does play nice with other pedals in the chain. I noticed a huge improvement from swapping tubes. Both old Amperex and Mullard 12AX7s sound fantastic in this box. Silky sweet grind now, my favorite dirtbox of them all.

jimmarchi1

where are you finding bugle boys these days? I haven't gotten one that tests good in ages!

Mullards I can find, but Ameprexes have become so scarce and the late 50s and early 60s ECC83 is really a benchmark for guitar....

jshinal

The old tubes were bought a few years ago. Check with NBS Electronics in Denver. Willie is kind of wacky but he's an honest man and knows his tubes. Mullards seem smoother, the Bugle Boys chime more. Funny stuff.

may be able to dial in your tone

there are so many switches and knobs, somewhere you can find YOUR tone.

Tonebone pedals sound great! They are incredibly responsive, dynamic and warm. Best of all, they react like a real amp-channel. Perfect for cleaner amps that need that extra kick!

The Hot British gives me many different "degrees" of warmth and distortion that I need for crunchy, yet tight, rhythm metal guitar playing. For soloing, I can find various settings that give me distinctly different solo sounds, from clean and "bitey", to messy and ear-piercing... all this from one pedal. The Hot British is amazing.
