Review: Rolls HA-43 Studio Headphone Amp | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

head-fi.org

The Rolls HA43 headphone amp is a budget-friendly, solidly built unit designed to handle up to four headphone outputs simultaneously. Praised for its durable steel construction and affordability, it's a great choice for musicians and home studio users seeking reliable performance without breaking the bank. However, it falls short in driving high-impedance headphones and introduces a slight hiss at maximum volume—issues that audiophiles might find off-putting. The sound quality, while decent, can appear a bit homogenized and lacks the finesse of higher-end amps. Overall, it's a practical, non-audiophile solution for casual listening and digital audio work, best suited for low to medium impedance headphones.

DAN: I replaced the Behringer MA400 headphone pre-amp with a Rolls HA43. The MA400 didn't have enough volume to satisfy the drummer (who uses this for his click-track too). The HA43 have enough juice.
